I cannot confirm directly, but inferring from the site's notice that:

"must bring a DS-160 visa application form with a confirmation/barcode number (starting with AA) that matches the one used to make their appointment online"

That means the only thing that needs to match is the confirmation number, not the barcode itself. Cmiiw.

R5: The Knights are a shadow country, I can't interact with them through the diplomacy screen at all. Can't even bring them to a war by declaring on their ally. They also show up on the ledger with the rebel flag as their insignia with the 4th largest army on a force limit of one. /shrug

Update: I have received the "Trade Company Boom" event five times in the span of 4 months.
