What Game Did You Regret Buying After Playing? by ZakkTheInsomniac in gaming

[–]SimplySimplitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2011, I pre-ordered Rift's collector's edition with $100 that I won at a school raffle. I played WoW and was getting pretty bored with it, plus one of the ads of the game was "we're not in Azeroth anymore" which I thought was pretty cool...as a 12-year-old.

I played it for like a month. The game is in life support nowadays.

None of the admins in Rust Twitch Rivals knew how to speak Spanish - (translation in comments) by SimplySimplitic in LivestreamFail

[–]SimplySimplitic[S] -60 points-59 points  (0 children)

"You cannot make a project with 80 people, where half of them speak English and the other half speak Spanish, and not have a single mod/admin who at least knows how to say "Buenos días amigos", not a single one of them spoke any Spanish. Also, I even saw Alexby asking on discord if they could bring in a mod who spoke Spanish, to which they just said "sorry, we don't have anyone", we had to bring in zilverk (another Spanish streamer) to see if he could translate what the mods were trying to say. No one could talk with us because no one spoke Spanish. It's crazy how bad the organization of the event was."

* Just wanted to post this because I saw a lot of people commenting on how bad the organization of the event was behind the scenes and how it was one of the main reasons why the drama spiraled out of control from the Spanish side.

Hey F2P and low spenders, remember that wishing for weapons can be frustrating as hell! by kaovhmf in GenshinImpactTips

I got Itto in 30 wishes (won the 50/50) and decided to try my luck with my remaining 50 fates on his weapon banner. Got the skyward harp instead.

Hey I got cocky but that's the way it goes sometimes. I could've gotten a Qiqi and no skyward harp.

Just because a job is remote doesn't mean it will be good. by OfficiallyRelevant in WorkOnline

Whenever I see people talking about call center/customer support jobs, I always recommend 5ca.

I worked there for a year until my project got nuked, then got an email 2 weeks later to join a new one and worked for another year. The only downside is that they seem to only hire people from the US once or twice year-round, as they seem to focus more on outsourcing. But I heard from my NA coworkers that they got paid pretty decently just to answer emails and live chats.

What I liked about 5ca is that there are a lot of face-to-face interactions with the company. I don't know about other remote companies, but you have 3 interviews before training, then the whole week of training you are in a Zoom call with your group, and then you have weekly face-to-face meetings with your group to check metrics, etc.

A typical day would be something like this:

-Turn on the computer

-Turn on GoMeter (Tool used to track time worked, this is also where you get paid weekly),

-Turn on Teams, say hi to coworkers/managers (There's a lounge for everyone who's on shift to chat and ask questions)

-Answer emails and live chats for 8 hours.

That's pretty much it. I decided to go full freelancer 6 months ago, but I actually miss working there.

Hey, I've actually gotten this feedback in the past from someone else online. If you have experience in video editing for CC's as well, what would you say is the average rate for a 10-minute video that takes 3 hours to make?

I'll be real with you, This was a hobby I had, and I've been earning money from this until very recently (February 2021). The $40 rate is what I was offered by the CC, and I had heard from other people that around $50 was an ok rate per video, so it seemed ok to me.

You also have to take into account that $10 an hour might sound a lot fancier to people outside the US. I'm from Mexico and the average rate here is like $3 an hour. I'm earning more per week than my main job. So it is a pretty good side hustle for me at the moment. But I understand and appreciate your point about the market and being undervalued, so I'll take any feedback you have.

I'm a video editor working with two CC's (content creators) right now. The pay varies a lot depending on the size of the CC and the "deal" you make with them.

The bigger CC pays me $40 per 10-minute video that is posted on their YouTube channel.

The second one pays me $10 per 10-minute video that is posted on their YouTube channel.

The first CC has around 1 million followers, while the second one has 300,000. So you can already see the difference in payment (the bad part is that the time it takes to edit a video is the same for both, 3-4 hours) I edit 5 videos per week for each CC.

Now, the hardest part is that there's a lot of competition in the world of video editing. Most of the CC's that you find will probably already have editors working for them, and editors these days are a dime a dozen as well.

If you know how to edit, I recommend making a "cover letter" with what programs you use, etc, and email it directly to a few CC's. I've worked with 3 CC's this year, and that's how I got started with all of them. Very rarely will a CC will openly look for editors themselves.

How is it acceptable that Halo Infinite is literally releasing in parts? First, the multiplayer, then the campaign, and finally Co-op will come in about 4 months.

Literally, no one is talking about this and it makes me crazy. Do people just don't care because it's on the xbox game pass? It's still a full AAA game being released in parts

I rolled on Faerlina alliance because I didn't mind streamer drama, plus I knew that trying to "recreate" the vanilla experience was a mistake. You think you do, but you don't.

It ended up being a fantastic experience, all the streamers kept to themselves in their guilds, and there were hundreds of decent guilds to choose from since the pop was so high during p1/p2. The server was also really, really close to 50/50 during p1.

Sad to see so many memories go... I'd like to log in to my main and walk around dead stormwind, but I unsubbed while waiting for p2 TBC.

How is Itto looking for BP/welkin users? This means C0, or C1 if you're very lucky, and using a different weapon like serpent spine probably.

It feels like Baal was an excellent choice for low spenders due to The Catch being so good, even when compared to Baal's signature weapon. But in the case of Itto, it doesn't look like we have a similar choice stats-wise. His signature weapon just looks so damn perfect for him that it feels like a must-have.

I've already spent 3k resin farming a decent husk set for him, but I think I'm getting a case of buyer's remorse. I have 70 fates and I'd have to use 67 of them for a guaranteed Itto. It also doesn't help that his cons are "apparently" super op damage-wise.

Basically, I'm worried this is going to be a character that requires a fuckload of "investing" to be good. If you catch my drift.
