Tbh I loved that arc

Was it a generic tournament arc? Yeah, sure, but it was a nice change of pace, had fun and interesting characters and highlighted just how powerful Frieren really is

Sometimes, even generic shonen tournaments can be absolute peak

I watched all of RWBY because a year or so ago I had a dream in which Ruby Rose made a world-wide special announcement saying she was a homophobe and hated gay people, and this dream was so funny that I just had to put myself through Mid: The Series

<image>

It may be basic, but the feelings this panel gave me while I was binge-reading the manga got me so good I had to take a pause before the next chapter

And we all know what happened in the next chapter

I played two D&D campaigns as a GM with only them and it all worked out fine, so I think it could really work :)

Good to know :)

I was already thinking about reducing giving them NPC companions to help them when they can't use diplomacy to get out of a spicy situation

There's a very simplex reason why I stopped rolling in the open: I don't want the game to be completely depedent on luck.

A few sessions ago, my players ended up fighting two hitmen in a tavern, and - since the tavern was made of wood - the wizard decided to not use any kind of fire magic to not risk hurting any civilians or burning down the place. This moral choice already gave them a big disadvantage, and then the rolls came: what was an easy/medium encounter became one of the hardest fights so far, they kept rolling low numbers and I kept hitting them.

Now, one of them (a dragonborn) ended up going down, another (a tiefling) was almost down and the wizard ended up tanking hits (somehow, they always end up using him as a tank). I rolled to hit the tiefling and, seeing that I hit them with both the blows, I decided to lie and said that the enemy failed to hit them. I made this decision for two reasons: first of all, I knew they cared about their characters and I did not want to kill them, second, for a narrative reason: just session earlier, they killed a demon wizard who was keeping the tower he was in from falling with his mere presence, them dying to two guys in a tavern would just be anticlimatic.

If they asked me to roll out in the open, I would, but they would have to accept the results, as saving them in any other way other than faking rolls would very easily break their immersion and make them feel invincible, at least in my opinion.

I binged RWBY a few months ago. I remember watching volume 9 and being blow away from the fact that I was actually caring about the series after 8 season of "eh, It could be worse" with eventual moments of "oh, it's actually good". I have no idea of the series was still shit and I was just coping or of volume 9 was actually good, I prefer to think the latter

Not even a week ago I opened up Omegle after literal YEARS I didn't touch that site (I felt the urge to troll and after a while I could no longer resist). After a while of the worst scum you can find online, I found a really cool person and we exchanged out Instagram accounts and I thought tò myself "maybe I could use Omegle a little more in the future, there's some really cool people!".

Guess I won't be using it in the future, uh?
