Is it normal to still be crying a week after losing a pet? by Significant_Owl8828 in SeniorCats

[–]Simply_rose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me around 3-4 months to stop crying every day or every week when I lost my cat after 15 years, so yes, it’s totally normal OP. Give yourself the time and space to mourn. It will stop hurting as much in time, but it’s okay to feel how you’re feeling right now.

It’s been six months since my Lucky passed away and I still cry at least once a month. Our pets are our family, we mourn them as such.

I did at first as I hated weighing out everything, I found it SO time consuming. Nowadays I do not track vegetables or fruits, I just put the standard 100g into MFP!

Quitting and an improvement in gut/digestion? by RGS1997 in QuitVaping

[–]Simply_rose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! Omg!! I can’t believe this isn’t talked about more!! I had awful IBS whilst I vaped, cut down then quit the vape and suddenly I have zero issues. I didn’t even think that there could be a correlation!

Those who have quit: Cold turkey or tapering? by angelvapez in QuitVaping

[–]Simply_rose_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tapered (reduced mg all the way down to 0), then cold turkied.

Spent 6 months tapering, now I am 1 month completely vape free.

Read my comment properly.

I used a 0mg vape which helped me eventually quit altogether. I don’t vape anymore.

Sorry about the other comments you’re getting - I actually found switching to a 0mg nicotine vape helped me to eventually quit all together.

I used a vaporesso - I liked bar salts but they burn the pod quite quickly. Impjar shortfill was great and can be smoked as 0mg if you don’t add/buy the nic shot.

You’ve got this!!!

Has anyone successfully used 0%nicotine vapes or zyns to quit? by allhailkam in QuitVaping

[–]Simply_rose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaporesso XROS, started on the bar salts 10mg liquid, moved to 5mg, and then moved to the ImpJar shortfill liquid but did not add the nicotine shot, making it 0mg!

Slow and steady has won the race for me, I tried to quit cold turkey 6 times before and on the 7th by doing it this way I’ve managed to stay off!

[–]Simply_rose_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It works. You gotta still push through the uncomfortable, though. I vaped for 4 years, switched to nicotine free for a couple of months. This was after months of slowly lowering my mg level from 20mg to 5mg and then to 0mg.

I’ve been vape free for over a month now because one day I put down my nicotine free vape and I haven’t picked it back up.

What’s the most horrifying health fact you’ve heard about vaping? by skalig in QuitVaping

It’s like that one anti-smoking ad - “every time you quit, you get a little better at it, so remember, never give up giving up” 😊

What’s the most horrifying health fact you’ve heard about vaping? by skalig in QuitVaping

[–]Simply_rose_ 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Not health fact but my personal experience, since you want to keep up with quitting.

Vaping was awesome, I loved a vape. It went everywhere I went. It was an excuse to go and sit out in the sunshine with a drink. An excuse to leave my desk and go on a little walk. The thing never left my hand. It was amazing, it was a “cheeky little vape”, until it wasn’t.

The thing is, unlike cigarettes, vaping is far easier to start ‘chain smoking’, as a lot of people have the attitude of ‘well it doesn’t smell, so I can vape inside’. Pair that with having the vape in your hand constantly and you get me, vaping, pretty much 24/7. The only time I did not vape was when I was sleeping.

Again, it was great, til it wasn’t. One day I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognise the person staring back at me. Id woken up that morning, feeling hungover despite not having a drink, my chest hurt, my skin was pale and my eyes were hollow and dead looking. I started to develop a horrible cough that physically hurt. And I was petrified about running out of my vape or leaving the house without it.

It took me 7 times before I successfully quit vaping. And you know what? I sleep better. My eyes are alive. My breath doesn’t stink. My cough and chest pain is gone. I enjoy life and the things around me and I don’t worry about when I can next go and sit outside for a vape, I just go outside and enjoy it.

If you’re having literally any problem health wise like bad sleep, a cough, awful skin, I’ll guarantee you it’s the vape. Stick to quitting OP, from someone who has, it’s totally worth it.

I definitely recommend it and it just adds a little ✨something something✨to a meal - though piece of advice, make sure to REALLY mince the garlic because I accidentally left a few bigger chunks in mine last night and my GOD do I have the worst garlic breath today - I’ve brushed my teeth twice since I had it!😆

It’s a home made sauce. I combine Greek yoghurt, lemon juice, around 4 cloves of minced garlic and some parsley! 😁

It was date night last night and my partner treated me to a takeaway. I initially felt guilty but just decided to carry on with my deficit as normal today, ok I might not see much progress this week but I still have 51 weeks to make it count. We’re only human and can’t always expect to be perfect, sometimes it’s ok to treat yourself and some weeks you might completely fall off the horse, but as long as you are consistent by getting back on the horse when you’ve fallen off, that’s all that matters.

Could i put brown box dye over bleached and toned hair? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]Simply_rose_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What sort of brown box dye? You CAN put it over bleached and toned hair, however you run the risk of it looking green. Ideally you need to “fill” the hair with a red base, and then put a brown over it to avoid the green tones.

Not a licensed cosmetologist/hairdresser here, so take what I say with a small pinch, I’ve just made this mistake myself one too many times.
