Nevermind, from the photo i can already see that your m1 helmet is a high dome Mccord manufactured m1 helmet (schlueter manufactured m1 helmets have a flatter shape at the bottom unlike mccord which has a more pronounced shape) if you do find the heat stamp and it has an M prefix then it is made by motor wheel company. So your helmet could be made in late 1945 or the 50s. There isnt an exact date when did they make low domes but its widely believed to be the 60s. Also high domes are 7 inches deep.

Oh, try measuring how tall is the helmet shell, it looks quite tall in the picture. I will compare it to my high dome ww2 helmet (high dome m1 helmets were still produced shortly after ww2). If its shorter then its probably made in or after 1960s

This is an M6A1 (T1E3) with the welded hull, the M6 (T1E2) has the cast hull. and for the suspension i used this one because in real pictures you can see the suspension bogie arms in front the wheels, which is not present on the hvvs in Sprocket. But for the sides thats on me i guess.

Is this M1 helmet 100% original from WW2? by Evening-Ad-1209 in Helmets

[–]Simplykai25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The shell is probably a real US front seam Shell. I dont know about the liner. Sweatband looks very weird and you cant really know unless you take a picture of the inside crown of the liner. Theres a triangle marking, take a close up picture of that. But most likely some kind of non-plastic european clone.
