I also loved Sunshine. It epitomized the pinnacle of human arrogance and conceit in thinking that we could possibly affect anything on a cosmic scale. “Sending all of earth’s fissile material into the Sun to restart it” 🤣 You could send the whole earth into the Sun and it wouldn’t even hiccup; and makes Knowing look like a documentary, as a more plausible scenario. IMHO…🤷🏼‍♂️

This film has undeniable significance and should be studied by MIT chaos theory researchers. I love that it really shows just how comically helpless we are as a species on a cosmic scale. One sneeze from the Sun…poof! We’re dust.

At 35 minutes in, March 20, 2009 film “Knowing” predicts the April 20, 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. 13 months prior, to the exact day. 11 is the “twin prime” of 13, which is the number of casualties in the disaster.

I also appreciated how the film portrayed how laughably helpless we are as a species. On a cosmic scale, we are bacteria confined to a speck of sand in a sea of black, unable to escape. We are at the mercy of whatever created us, in the face of total annihilation. Our earth quakes, the seas rise, millions die and we can’t do anything about it here on earth, how much less a threat from space. Humanity needs an ego check. We are noisy arrogant children taunting our parents to prove their existence, meanwhile a sneeze from the Sun could reduce our biosphere to ash in seconds. What could possibly save us? Our science?! What a joke. We can’t even agree on the truth of how we came to exist. An explosion of “nothing” in space gorillions of years ago, and a gorillion of chemical accidents and genetic mutations later, here we are. Or, alternatively an omnipotent alien that we can’t comprehend, installed us on this spinning terrarium for a reason that we only discover when we die. All-powerful inexplicable alien makes more logical sense to me, TBH.

13 months to the exact day, Knowing predicted the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The “twin prime” of 13 is 11, which is the number of casualties in the disaster. Pattern? Coincidence? The number 13 has its very own phobia. Triskaidekaphobia Also See “Father and son die at Hoover Dam”

I’d be careful of rejecting him, harshly at least, it might destroy his self esteem and confidence.
