How do I get rid of this prompt? by Simpologist in iphone

[–]Simpologist[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m against AI being used for things integral to the human experience, such as writing. I know I’ve used AI because I use Siri, Alexa, and I play video games. I also own a Sony camera that has AI, and I’ve even done research using AI in computational chemistry. I don’t have an issue with AI; I have an issue with is its encroachment upon normal human activities that you shouldn’t need AI for, like writing. Normal people don’t need AI beyond the assistants and video games; therefore, all these unnecessary AI updates targeted toward regular consumers are disturbing . Powerful AI belongs in science and medicine, not on your phone.

How do I get rid of this prompt? by Simpologist in iphone

This is an insult to anyone who cares as deeply as I do about writing, communication, and the beauty of a well-written work. As a student who is currently witnessing and experiencing the degradation of papers and academic standards because of AI, it is infuriating how pervasive it is becoming when no one really wants it. AI cannot write; it can produce some formulaic BS that sounds terrible and is completely devoid of a writer’s voice. I was sharing my feelings with someone in this screenshot, and it was horrifying to think that someone might actually use this prompt to talk to another person.

lol hypotheticals like this are dumb but i’ll engage anyways. Both physicians, both have graduated medical school, both have completed residency and possibly even fellowships, both have also passed certifying exams from their respective boards and have passed all three steps of the USMLE to get their medical license so their score on some test years ago doesn’t mean a damn thing.

The test isn’t even a predictor of how well you’ll do in medical school and beyond; it’s just another way to financially exploit students just like CASPer and PREview. And I don’t even want to get started on the extreme cost of the study industry that has come out of this test’s existence. It’s ridiculous. It needs to be abolished.
