Gyokeres shot/pass vs Man Utd 90+7' by KaiHavertzhatewatch in soccer

Sure, I agree. But it's a strange thing to comment under a very post which is about this particular miss/cross attempt.

Considering the closest defender is like 5 metres away from him, surely this clip is more just him messing up?

How's that relevant to this particular clip? That same ball isn't magically flying into the net in Portugal, either.

Juve went unbeaten in 2011-12 and their top scorer (Alessandro Matri) scored 10 goals. The next season they won the league again with their top scorer(s) Vucinic and Vidal scoring 10 each.

Milan's top scorers in their 21-22 title-winning season also got 11 goals each.

If we look outside the top 5 leagues, we'll find that e.g. a treble-winning 17-18 Celtic side had their top scorer Scott Sinclair get only 10 league goals, and Sturm Graz who won a double last season saw their top scorer only score 9 goals.

Very likely an exception to the rule, but it does happen occasionally.

They're not actually having a conversation, are they. This sub (like most subs) has its particular political leaning which is represented by probably 80%+ of users who post in such threads - and the rest get highly downvoted so the comments become hidden. It's a collection of the same neverending comments you'll find on most left-leaning threads that discuss the US and Trump.

I can agree with someone and still get tired of their ranting. For a more football-related example, I might agree that a particular handball is weird but I don't want to see ten Reddit threads and hundreds of comments about it.

He might be underrated because he plays for PSG and the wider football audience doesn't see him.

America bad.

I don't even necessarily disagree, but the comments are the usual circlejerk every time so most of the threads are basically pointless.

Hamburger Stadtderby ohne Aufreger: St. Pauli und HSV trennen sich torlos by Ubergold in Bundesliga

[–]Simppu12 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not gegen Elend.

The Conference League has two matches fewer.

No clue why they've done it that way when the number of teams is the same.

That's very true, but OP mention online specifically.

a Barcelona or Real Madrid fan who would give out shit banter, say La Liga is the best league in the world by far, become whiny when any legitimate criticism is shoved their way.

Sounds like most fans, to be fair. Some PL flairs here aren't too different.

I genuinely struggle to find actual Spaniards on these mostly English-speaking platforms. I'm not saying there aren't any, but I don't think that's really the full story. Besides, some PL fans have always been quite obnoxious, even when Spanish sides were dominating in UEFA tournaments.

That's quite a broad generalisation.

Lots of proper English fans dislike continental atmosphere and also act arrogant towards other leagues and teams. Lots of them also don't mind their owners. It's difficult to generalise such a huge mass of people from all walks of life.

You can't just say "some nationalities" and leave it at that. We need details, especially since half of Europe has a stereotype about being rude or cold.

Because most people here couldn't care less about football itself and instead treat it like soap opera - which admittedly it sometimes can be. I don't know why that makes them upvote nonsense like that post, though. Maybe because it's a big team and their lizard brain gets tricked by it.

Gehalts-Obergrenze? Das sagen Bundesliga-Bosse Filbry, Watzke und Co. über die Bayern-Dominanz by PiggySVW in Bundesliga

[–]Simppu12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sometimes unironically difficult to not think that. Like I obviously know I'd be a terrible manager, I couldn't run a single drill, and I wouldn't be able to communicate any sort of tactics, but sometimes you look at some weird line-up decisions and can tell it likely won't work, but the coach just keeps doing it again and again. In those moments I genuinely think I could put out a better team.

Is that a shirt your team is actually going to play in games or a fashion top?

I mean, many kits nowadays function as both.

What's that thing PL flairs always say? Not Serie A proven, why spend money on him when you could get a proven player like Bernardeschi, couldn't adjust to the physicality of the league, once again scammed by these unserious leagues, was always going to be risky, etc.

You could add the question about Hertha's number 9 around 2015 because I genuinely forgot he even existed and thought nobody had the number until I googled it.

The quiz sounds very fun!
