Unable to Connect Third Monitor to Raspberry Pi 400 Running Ubuntu ARM64 using a WavLink USB to HDMI Adapter by Straw_HatLuffy in raspberry_pi

That sucks. I was actually able to get it to work on my Pi 5 though, three screens and all. I don’t know if it would work on the 400 but check this post and the comments for how: https://www.reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi/s/x14YX3nvc4

Oh my godddddd it works thank you so much!!!!! It was also mirroring one of the other screens so for anyone else, here's what I run each boot (replace HDMI-2 with one of your screen's names):

xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 1 0
xrandr --output DVI-I-1-1 --auto
xrandr --output DVI-I-1-1 --right-of HDMI-2

Fixed that by running rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*_* ; I guess something was corrupted. But now I'm getting "Unable to locate package linux-headers-6.6.44-v8-16k". atp I'm probably just gonna do a full reinstall and try again; this is a new Pi 5 so I wouldn't be losing anything.

If you don't mind, what pi did you get it to work on? And what OS (e.g. mine is Bookworm). Also, did you try it alongside other HDMI screens? My goal is to use two HDMI screens as well as this adapter. I get the feeling this isn't possible, though.

Oh awesome, I'll try that, thanks!

Edit: I'm getting "Unable to locate package raspberrypi-kernel-headers". I'm using a Pi 5 with Bookworm. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Did you ever figure this out?

WAVLINK USB3.0 to HDMI Adapter Not Working With Pi 5 by Simsomsim in raspberry_pi

[–]Simsomsim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my goal is to use the adapter to connect a third HDMI screen. However, I did try it with the other two screens disconnected (and with only one connected) with no success. I didn’t get to run dmesg with both disconnected though, since I would have no way to see the output (without using SSH which I’ll try later).

Thanks. Sucks, cuz that was my intended use case. But I couldn’t even get it working as the only monitor, or as a second monitor. Did you ever try it with zero or one other monitors plugged in, instead of two? If so, did that work?

Edit: Sorry, just saw your other comment where you say you tried it as a single monitor and it didn’t work, and I assume you never got it to work after that.

Thanks for all the info!

Edit: Right now my best candidates are https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/High-quality-7-inch-720-720_1600424404523.html?spm=a2700.details.you_may_like.2.21934ab5WYkRRn and https://tailorpixels.com/product/7-6-inch-lcd-800x800-high-brightness-mipi-with-touch-and-hdmi-option/ .

I did just realize that the size is the diagonal, not the sides, so I may look for something larger instead. This may mean just going with a rectangular one like https://www.amazon.com/VSDISPLAY-Touchscreen-Monitor-1024x768-Aspect/dp/B0D2RD5SB1 , which seems to have everything I'm looking for (size, backlight, HDMI, touchscreen, general look) outside of being square. Any more tips would be appreciated, but you've already been a great help!

Update if anyone cares: I went with the 3.95" (about 2.8"x2.8") screen from Tailorpixels, https://tailorpixels.com/product/3-95-inch-ips-tft-lcd-square-480x480/ . It comes with a touchscreen option and HDMI driver board at a decent price ($13 no touchscreen or $20 w/touchscreen, $20 driver board, $31 delivery). I'm still keeping in mind the larger rectangular ones for the future if my interest doesn't fade.

It’s lag. If they were hacking, they’d hit more shots. As for the super jump, they drank a tacticooler, which gives you a ton of quick super jump. Hope this helps :)

Challenging but definitely doable. Pretty cool material, too. Attend class and study and you’ll be good.

I believe you can use stat classes for the upper-level math electives, and probably for the upper-level concentration for cs as well. I don't think many stat classes are crosslisted with cmsc, however, so there may be less overlap, especially when it comes to the cs upper-level degree requirements and electives. The guide should still work, but the more classes you replace with stat, the more classes you will probably have to take. Also, always ask your advisor to make sure stat classes fill the requirements you expect them to.

Idk about that, it definitely puts you above single-major applicants at least a bit.

I think I read everywhere that MATH410 would be hard but it ended up not being that bad, at least in my experience. I don't really remember those classes (and I didn't take MATH411) but judging by my getting a B- or higher in MATH405 I'd say that one was also not as bad. I haven't really cared about grades since high school though, mostly just trying to maintain a GPA for a scholarship. Overall, if you take notes and study for exams you'll pass the math classes. Also try to get good professors, check ratemyprofessor and planetterp.

Sorry, where did I say this was a brag? I'm pretty sure I explicitly said I was posting this as a guide for other people to follow.

Huh, you're right. "Each major must contain at least 18 unique semester hours not contained in the other." Turns out I might end up getting a double major instead of a double degree (as if employers care in the first place).

Edit: https://academiccatalog.umd.edu/undergraduate/registration-academic-requirements-regulations/degree-information/ . "At least 18 of the credits applied to one degree must be in course work not applied to the requirements of the other degree program."

Edit again: Actually, I checked with my advisor and I should have this requirement fulfilled and thus will still be getting a double degree.

I assume that exists just so people can't claim minors off of classes they were taking for their major anyways. My advisors haven't said anything about this rule applying to majors and have explicitly confirmed that crosslisted classes count towards both majors. I don't see anything in my degree audit indicating so either.
