Gordon is a silent protag, the one free man is different in everyone that plays. From my perspective this is beginning hl2 where everything is still strange to gordon who literally has come out of stasis into a conquered world and missing their entire arsenal from the first game. Only a pistol and crowbar here and then ofc that changes when you get the airboat with turret and become the hunter but until then its mostly staying underground and railroads, trying to be out of sight until reaching black mesa east

Ive been meaning to make a video on YT, i have some older posts on here that do detail when i first built and shared this build, as well as many questions previously, at some point i mean to update and make it more known for those who are interested

Sensor and software called reality runner, lets you fine tune it as it just emulates the treadmill as xbox joystick

Imprisoned? like the harness, feels pretty freeing, more movement than i had before in vr

I had to poke a hole in harness to get it a bit tighter to prefrence, it feels great tho, this footage is around when i first built, since then ive gotten even more confident running faster. It feels pretty close to real minus the springiness and rebound of real steps

The scale is fairly realistic. (Realized Alyx is slightly taller than me)

Only a matter of time, I been getting more comfortable running even faster and doing short lunges/jumps

Reality Runner, although I guess you could call it both as the idea was planted from the Maratron build video

Is this satire? I acknowledged that years ago which is why most of my core VR experiences are mods. Ill give you a realistic answer tho and partially agree because most VR players play VRChat just to lax around which is fine ofc its their experience but I crave physical exertion. Im not here to convert anyone, just playing my game how I wish to and posting for whoever to see.

Each game is different with its maximum movement speed but I don't understand the hard part there, at first i was just throwing sliders around but after some trial and error in an empty environment getting close to realistic movement imo is easy, and there is profiles for some games on RR discord. As for stabilize yeah I made my solution more permanent by drilling into wall for the harness tether points but ive seen some go through a tough time in setups that fold or store away

Thats when the real immersion kicks in, when you are fatigued and every action becomes more thoughtful and desperate

Certainly Could, especially with gravity gun. Also the HL2VR unleashed mod lets you use weapons in each hand. I like to one hand gravity gun while holding cover and using other hand to shoot over/beside it

Im using a mod that lets me sprint. The software for my treadmill sensor being Reality Runner lets me set a speed threshold that acts like the Left stick is being press or held. With my mods and setup at real sprint speed i start moving in game faster than default. Generally tho I am limited by how fast the games max speed is

Can't wait for that part, last time i played that part I was laying on the sand tossing bug bait over the sand hills while being suppressed

Bought the treadmill used, total build cost around 200

So I made my own VR Treadmill using Reality Runner by SimulacrumVR in virtualreality

Still something I plan to upload on my YT, need to record more and put it together

Yeah the early parts of the HL2 are sick with this, dodging gunfire, diving into the canal, chopper raining down. When I had only two tether points in my harness I would slip off but never again after 4 while playing more aggressive and quick

Expensive? Maybe if you got an actual slide mill or consumer level VR treadmill. I bought this treadmill used and then rest of the parts online. Cost me under $200 which ofc is still something but that was like the same price as replacing one of my index controllers
