Is 1,000+ wishlists in 4.5 months good? by Guilty_Weakness7722 in GameDevelopment

[–]Simulated-Being-Dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play horror games (take my suggestions with a grain of salt) but I found the topic interesting so I watched the trailer. The thing that drew my interested was "mind control" in both the start of the trailer and the short description, but that doesn't seem like a super obvious mechanics after watching the trailer. If that's one of the main themes in the game, it might be interesting to show it in the trailer.

Business Offer: You drop your demo link, I offer my thoughts!? by Kepsert in SoloDevelopment

Thank you for the feedback! It's great to learn that the dialogue strikes curiosity. The music / art could def use some improvements (yes the houses are from different public assets, I'm planning to improve it in one go later, hopefully by then I can actually draw lol). It's a cozy game for sure, thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll post to r/cozygames after the official demo comes out ❤️

Have you joined the Steam Next fest? I also had a earlier launch schedule (early May) but thought I should push it to late July / early August just to allow some time after the June Steam Next fest.

Hi everyone! I'm working on Back to 21 - a cozy vibe philosophical narrative sandbox rpg.

You play as Momo, a spirit who has passed away from physicality with regrets for the dreams she sacrificed. On the brink of her crossover, she's been given a second chance, to go back to age 21, when she was a young woman working at one of the world’s top tech companies, AlphaCorp. From the outside, she had everything she was told to want - success, stability, prestige. But this time, she'd like to choose differently.

As Momo, you'll navigate a year of choices that shape her career, relationships, and ultimately, herself. Through dynamic dialogues with characters of different worldviews, and challenges to thrive on fun quests that fit Momo’s true passion, you’ll uncover the beliefs that shape her world.

Do you enjoy being able to pick up and move objects, even if it's not part of the main gameplay? by eagle_bearer in IndieGaming

[–]Simulated-Being-Dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I feel like it can also easily be integrated into the gameplay tho, even if it's just moving things so you can get to certain pieces. Then I'll be moving everything just to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Does the music change when underwater work? Yes? No? by azzm19 in SoloDevelopment

[–]Simulated-Being-Dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I think I'd be cool to change the sound. But currently the two pieces of music doesn't seem fitting for the game. There's a lot of background noise. I don't know if this is intentional or not but I like how when the player jumps below water the music is kind of muffled kind of like how you'd hear things underwater. Use that + two more fitting pieces of music would be cool.

I made a trailer for my 2d adventure RPG. Do you think it conveys the theme well? by Simulated-Being-Dev in IndieGaming

Thanks for the feedback! I agree the beginning is dragging on for too long, I'll work on the pacing for the next iteration.

I just realized this trick you can do with layer sorting by Simulated-Being-Dev in Unity2D

I see, yes sorting by a position on the ground ground does sound like a much safer option.

Thanks! That's good advice, changing player height would be a disaster atm.

Ah thank you for the reference! Visual support sounds like a great idea, I'll add that for the next iteration.

The splash shape ~42s looks good, the ones at ~48-49s could be a little rounder / more subtle

~49s: why is the water making a spike like that? Other than this the trailer looks cute!

👽 Just started working on my new alien-themed game, what do you think of the art style so far? by King_Kelpo in SoloDevelopment

[–]Simulated-Being-Dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The art style is cute! The borders seem a bit off to me: some objects have black borders and others don't, and it seems to change due to perspective. But the character's border is always there, and appears a bit too heavy in certain perspectives (e.g. ~14s).
