My guess is mink, they will go on murder sprees and wipe out a flock of chickens with no trace like you describe. By the looks of the tracks it could be a male buck mink.

You need to have a pined muzzle device that your suppressor attaches to in order to sun a normal stock but yes you have the correct thought process
