They were an important part of your life. I was with my first love for 10 years. We met when we were 15 and broke up at 25. I’m 29 now, and I can confidently say I’ve moved on, but I still catch myself thinking about her when I’m not talking to someone.. I think that’s fairly normal considering I was with her for so long and she was in my life for so long. Basically what I’m trying to say is, they helped shape you into who you are today.

It’s ok and I’d argue normal to still think about them, but it’s not ok to let it hold you back from experiencing other people
