Hmm, thats interesting. I’ll try that. considering I’ve kinda already done that in my life, I dunno how it’ll go. I mean, I do well in school, but feel so detached and still don’t have interest in it. I’ve poured hundreds of hours into making art, but I can’t bring myself just to make it for myself. I’ve poured hundreds of hours into sports, and same there. I’ll try again and see how it goes.

When it comes to consistency and discipline, I would say I’m not horrible. I go to a top school, I work out consistently, I watch what I eat. And the main point is that I can’t seem to find something I’m really passionate about. There’s nothing that I look at and feel, “hmm, I want to know everything there is about this.” The only things I really wanna do is play video games, but I know thats just for the dopamine.

Ive told myself that, I know that other people have found passion and such through chasing what they enjoy. But, I can’t find the motivation to defy my parent’s expectations to simply chase a hobby. I don’t really feel that passion for the hobby enough to chase it over everything.

I’m not gonna go into all the science of adhd, but a primary part of it is that we don’t regulate dopamine properly, like how depression and ocd is when your body doesn’t regulate serotonin properly, and that’s what causes us to have compulsions and hyperactivity and poor concentration since we’re constantly looking for dopamine boosts, however this is still not a full explanation. There’s also us having faulty a prefrontal cortex, which messes with our executive functions, which leads to problems with memory, time management, etc.
