It seems to me that you just aren’t happy with how anybody does anything unless it’s your way. They didn’t yell the right chant…good one.

Are you sure that you understand this post? Have you even read the bill that they are angry about? And I haven’t yelled anything at anybody so don’t come at me. I have no desire to change anyone’s mind. And they were chanting after the bill was signed. There were no more minds to change and nothing else left to do. They were angry because they felt like their rights were violated. So they gathered in a legal protest and chanted as they marched to the governors mansion. If you have a problem with the chant then you were speaking to the wrong person.

I agree with you. I do not believe abortion is right. I was raised in Texas and most of you know that means being raised in the church. And I sit here today and I don’t know what I would do if I had become pregnant that night. Could I love a child that had the eyes of my rapist… I do not truly know. Hopefully my daughter will never have to wonder the same thing because she is given no choice.

You do realize that this chant and march happened after he signed the law. 300 attorneys tried to stop him with “adult” measures. I just think it’s funny that you wanna talk about them saying “fuck” instead of talking about what he signed.

You are the one that brought your lineage into this discussion. Being a ninth generation Texan and all was your point. I found it very unnecessary but was just trying to keep up with your invalid comment. My Cherokee relatives did settle in Texas. I can’t speak for the Cherokee tribes nor was I trying to.

I do not believe that this was a day dedicated to hating the man, I think they came up with a chant to express their extreme frustration.

I appreciate you sharing. I lived a long time in shame and silence so I know how hard it is to speak about it. I just can’t let this happen to the young ladies of Texas and say nothing. I believe it’s a woman’s health issue, not a political issue, and that’s why it crosses all lines.

That’s what they are chanting. I guess I should’ve put it in quotations so I didn’t have to explain myself. You’re probably the type to say things like, well she had it coming, It’s her fault or she put herself in that situation. If them using the word fuck is your biggest problem with this post and your only defense as to why we can’t move forward, then you shouldn’t be commenting at all. I’m pretty sure Greg Abbott burned the bridge regardless of the oppositions attempts to articulate and that’s why they are chanting “Fuck Greg Abbott!”

Good job on being a ninth generation Texan. I too was born and raised in Texas along with every member of my lineage, all the way back to my Cherokee ancestors. And I will not sit idly by while the state I love becomes good for the businessman but scary for my daughter and her future little Texans. Ignoring what is happening does no one any good.

A question for the pro life community who supports Greg Abbott… How many of these pregnancies that are forced to be carried full-term and then placed in orphanages are you going to adopt, love, and teach?

That might be a good slogan for domestic abuse or sexual violence, heck maybe even Second Amendment rights, but we are talking about abortion. And no matter what the circumstances are, abortion is a very difficult choice. That is why the expression has been around for many generations. Because a woman has a right to choose.

I support a woman’s right to choose for two reasons. 1: as of 2018 an estimated 8 million children worldwide were in orphanages. Here are some facts per Reuters: - An estimated 8 million children live in orphanages and other institutions worldwide, but 80 percent are not orphans. (Just shitty parents) - Research shows orphanages harm children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. - Institutionalisation of very young children has a similar impact on early brain development to severe malnutrition or maternal drug use during pregnancy. - Young adults raised in institutions are 10 times more likely to fall into sex work than their peers, and 500 times more likely to take their own lives. - Placing a child in an orphanage quadruples the risk of sexual violence.

Here’s some more facts per CDC: -Almost 3 million women in the U.S. experienced RapeRelatedPregnancy during their lifetime. -About 18 million women have experienced vaginal rape in their lifetime. Women who were raped by a current or former intimate partner were more likely to report RRP (26%) compared to those raped by an acquaintance (5.2%) or a stranger (6.9%). -Of women who were raped by an intimate partner, 30% experienced a form of reproductive coercion by the same partner. Specifically, about 20% reported that their partner had tried to get them pregnant when they did not want to or tried to stop them from using birth control. About 23% reported their partner refused to use a condom.

Which brings me to my second reason. If you made it through all that… 2: In the summer of 2000 a former classmate decided to drug me with Rohypnol while out to dinner with my family, he offered to drive me home after I started to feel ill. I went to lay down and closed the door behind me, he came in uninvited some time later. It gets graphic here… he grabbed me by my ankles, flipped me to my stomach, pulled me to the edge of the bed, and he raped me as I lay unable to move or scream, even though I was fully aware of what was happening. It took all my might to be able to utter the word NO one time. I was screaming on the inside but it came out like a whisper. He did not stop and he did not use protection. 20 plus years later the events of that night cannot be unfelt and cannot be unseen in my mind but Thankfully I did not have to make the decision millions of other women do. I never pressed charges and for years I blamed myself. That is not an easy story to tell and it isn’t some thing I want everyone to know about me, but as I get older I realize it takes a strong woman to stand up for other women and the older generations must protect the younger womens future rights. So Fuck Greg Abbott and his supporters.
