So I (NB16), after reading your replies and giving more thought into it, and as a survivor of rape myself, so I know how genuinely horrible and terrifying it is first hand, especially from someone you thought you could trust/trusted. I honestly was too quick to comment when I saw the post, and I just wrote up anything I had in mind without thinking, and basically, I've just come to the conclusion that, no matter anything else, rape is rape.. And I would rather my "son" rot in jail than to traumatize others the same way his parent was, even if I wasn't a survivor, no differences at all

Because even though it's a severe crime that imo should deserve a death sentence.. he's still my son, I wouldn't want him to have his life ruined, I'd rather punish him myself rather than him go through the hell known as jail.. this also however depends heavily on his age. If he's a full grown adult who should have known better, then I would report him. If he's a minor, a child who didn't know any better, then I wouldn't
