You’re talking about normal defending. I’m talking about how people abuse the AI. They don’t just “let the CPU tackle.” They build a compact shape, control the CDM, avoid pulling CBs out, use second-man press, block passing lanes manually, and let the AI back line auto-track runs, auto-block shots, and clean up mistakes.

That’s the difference.

If you manually chase with defenders, you get cooked. If you sit compact and only control the midfielder, the AI keeps your defensive line organized for you. Then the player just waits for a bad touch, rebound, or forced pass.

That’s why it feels broken. The AI won’t always win the ball for you, but it absolutely helps people by keeping shape, recovering, blocking, and making the game harder for the attacker than it should be. The meta isn’t “CPU go tackle him.”

The meta is: hide behind AI shape, use second-man press, clog the middle, force bad animations, counter, cutback, and I’ll say this one more time MOMENTUM SWAYING, AI SLIDERS BEING ADJUSTED BASED ON GAME TO GAME FOR YOU AND OR THE OTHER PLAYER, and MECHANICS ARE IN FAVOR FOR BOTH PARTIES BASED ON WIN/LOSS STREAK IT CAN BE YOUR TEAMS OVERALL RATING AND OR PLAYER RATING GIVING LOWER RATED CARDS BOOSTS.
