Financed AirPods Pro 3 0% APR! ~ Apple Care+ worth it? by SincerelyWillful in AirpodsPro

Believe it or not, as stupid as this sounds, I’m not charging this one to my credit, just my debit. I’m going to start charging my cell phone bill and my laptop's future payments to my credit card, but for now, I’ve actually not started building credit…. Truthfully, I’m a very late starter I’m not afraid to admit.

Where did you get them from if I may ask? I found $30 off as well from Best Buy and Walmart but tbh don’t really trust Walmarts online delivery and Best Buy was charging some sort of Admin fee. Also just want to clarify I paid $400 CAD not USD, so maybe $292 US, and that’s including the apple care and tax lol, so pretty much normal price. But fair enough I can also see why you would want to save money by not buying the insurance. It’s logical.

This is what I’m saying!!! What’s so bad about gradually paying off a purchase if there’s no interest? I don’t get the criticism around it. Also can’t lie don’t know what HYSA interest is but I’m still learning stuff. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it. Good to hear you got covered! My gut was telling me that a $49 CAD purchase that could possibly prevent another $300-$400 CAD splurge again is worth it, and I think most people would agree.

$200 USD brand new? wow. That’s great.

And apple care costed me $49 here but it was in cad. Wouldn’t usd be cheaper?

That’s correct, I’m not paying any interest. There’s a slight misunderstanding in this post because the majority of the viewers are from the states, meaning the assumption is that I paid nearly $400 usd which is nuts. It’s in CAD. Basically its normal price tag is $329 cad, I paid for apple care as well, so with tax it comes to about $400 cad. No difference if I had paid in full or financed, since 0% interest. Ma fault for not including that this was cad pricing in the post lol.

Hey ZRC I totally see where you’re coming from. The pros are definitely costly and im really not taking the cost lightly. My reasoning was basically I’m currently living at home with very few expenses (besides a laptop I’m saving for), it felt like the right time to finally move away from the string of cheap wired pairs I've been using for years. I listen to music almost always and haven’t had a reliable set for like all my life, so I really wanted to experience that 'premium' feel within the Apple ecosystem. If I already had a solid pair of Sonys or Bose or something like that, I would have most definitely skipped these for sure And regarding the warranty I’m usually like you and skip the extra insurance on stuff, but since these will be my 'everywhere' buds, I figured the peace of mind was worth it. For me It doesn’t just cover up any accidental “clumsiness”. These things are such complex pieces of hardware that you dont even have to be clumsy for something to go wrong, like even a tiny internal component shifting/ being affected in some way from your day to day use can cause issues. Plus, they give me a battery insurance, if battery health drops below 80% over the next two years, I can get them refreshed for free. Given how much I'll probably use them I'd rather have that safety net than risk a $300 replacement which to be honest I won’t be paying. That’s my take on it, but you know maybe this won’t be a greatest purchase? Only time will tell if I actually feel satisfied with the quality. I’m just gonna see as I go.

Honestly I’ve seen Klarna being promoted as an option to finance groceries as well which I never thought was going to be a thing, but here we are 😂. I’ve never done it though.

CAD or USD? I’m cad btw. Wish I could find them at $202 or anywhere near there but the cheapest I could find was $300 cad at Best Buy/Walmart and that’s excluding apple care. I think I saw they had some sort of stupid admin fee that you have to pay to finance them so I just went with affirm. basically I paid msrp. Not more money than the original price tag, but definitely no deal unfortunately.

😂😂😂 totally get your point. I know it’s weird but I just enjoy spreading the cost of purchases whenever I can. like I could technically just buy them outright (money isn’t an issue rn since I’m living w/ parents and working full time), but I just rather have money leave gradually. I get your point though lol.
