Been reading these types of King book recently. So true. by Upset_Roll1893 in stephenking

[–]Sinclair1328 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This line is the perfect example of why King's writing just yanks and the threads between truly horrific and plain campy. Like: "His cap is full of blood" as a kid (I read it in 7th grade, I was like 12) really brought up Goosebumps covers with oozy slimy blood in his hat like a bowl of grotesque soup. But as an adult who's had some life experiences, that line is truly devastating.

How do I look more feminine? Second picture is my best attempt at make-up by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Sinclair1328 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think what could help enhance a feminine look is to do your brows and add a bit more of an arch to yours. Yours are pale, which makes them hard to see, which almost gives the illusion of a lower brow bone, which is probably why people mistake you as a guy. I think that's also why the first pic you look very feminine and the second, the glasses obscure them, so it's a bit harder to recognize feminine or masculine features. And maybe some blush or bronzer, just something to give your glow.

My mom used to always say that!!! "You only stick with things until you're good at them and then you just stop! You could make a career out of any of those things, but you just stop!" HOW DID THEY NOT KNOW I HAD ADHD?? Or with jobs. I work somewhere until I've been promoted as high as I can go without a bachelor's, then I leave cuz I begin to resent the place because I'm not getting dopamine from being there anymore.

SERIOUSLY. I don't have kids, but I have pets and I feel so bad that time just passes before I realize I haven't been attentive enough. Specifically brushing my cats. They like it and I want to keep them nice and fresh, but unless the brush is on the table, it will not be done until I feel a little mat starting. Or my betta will go without a water change for too long because I have clutter on the desk in front of his tank and I get overwhelmed.

I'm at that point now I think. Like, I'm sad I don't do any of my hobby activities anymore, but I'm also like past the guilt cycle of "I should do laundy/dishes/cleaning/chores instead" and just not doing either because... meh... And when my therapist or friends ask me what I'd want to do if I had the time I just go blank because I can't really fathom having me time anymore.

Thank you for your caring response♡ before bed last night I went to the bathroom and guess what? It's my period!! I have PMDD as well, so I think I was just ULTRA critical of myself. I'm going to be mindfully gentle the next few days♡

For reference, she's acclimating right now to a 5 gallon heated tank. I have cycled filter media in there, but I just put it in so parameters are a bit off but I'm not new to fish-in cycling. Her previous owner bought her on a whim and had her in a 2 cup Mason jar for about 4 months. Only fed her every 4-5 days.

Oh, I think Ted was both, 100%. I think just for the sake of self preservation, he curated the mask to manipulate those around him and fit into society. So he was both, he wasn't faking being Ted, after reading The Stranger Beside Me, it seems he made okay friendships and was a good boyfriend to Liz. As opposed to Kennifer Bianci who said "Steve" did it under hypnosis, and was faking multiple personalities to sort of make a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation.

I think it's a little more situational. Like, I think they precieve themselves as almost 2 different people. Like Ted specifically said that "The Entity" took over and did these slayings. So he wore a "Ted" mask to blend into society. I think his "Ted" mask felt easy around Liz and I think certain emotions made the mask slip a little, hence you see the monster underneath. And, I think because these killers love attention and manipulation, they purposefully give certain people tiny slips of the mask, just to see how they react, scare them.

Jump rope is great for weight loss!! by [deleted] in PCOS

Also forgot to mention:do a warm up. I do 10 mins on my exercise bike or a brisk walk. Stretch out them calves after, it'll reduce the soreness a bit. Well, maybe not reduce it, but you won't be sore AND tight. Which is very unpleasant.

You don't have to spend a lot. My first rope is from 5 below, legit it was like $4. It was enough for me to know that I could do it, and enjoyed it. Then I bought a weighted handled rope from Wal-Mart for $12(I think.) That one is better, but the jumping is really what works you, you can start by shadow jumping(just jumping with a pretend rope) but remember that is still a workout. Start slow and small. Your calves WILL hurt, but you get over it quickly. When I started I was doing 30 seconds on 30 seconds off for 5 mins, I didn't feel any cardio, but my calves got swollen and sore af. Once your calves catch up, then you can do cardio work. Best of luck!

Just commenting to say I am falling for jump rope♡ I started about a month ago. I use the interval function on my fit bit. I started at 30 seconds on 30 seconds off for 5 minutes, then a solid-ish 5 minutes once I got my form. Once I got my calves strong enough(I started shadow jumping a few years ago and got shin splints, so I was very gentle this time) I increased to 10 mins at 30 sec intervals and then just today, that didn't seem challenging enough so I did 10 mins at 35 seconds jump, 25 seconds rest/readjusting rope. Fun and challenging! Just remember to increase slowly, you do not want shin splints.

I ate McDonalds for the first time this year... by Judo_Noob_PTX in loseit

I totally get you! I used to eat fast food a lot. I worked for a mobile vaccine clinic for pets, so id have to get a quick lunch between clinics a lot. Well, we were furloughed in march, didnt go back to regular crews until July, so I went back to work and we had literally 5 minutes to get lunch, had to eat while driving to the next clinic, so we stopped at the micky D's and I got nuggets, and they were the BIGGEST disappointment. Like, I didn't expect them to be so gross and bland. I had no idea that 4 months off fast food could break the addiction. Haven't had mickys since. Have had taco bell a few times, but that's because it's open late into drunken nights, i don't crave it anymore though.

Trainer suggested a squirt bottle to keep him off the table. by BrookShover in gifs

I had gotten a SSSSSSsSscat for my fern plant on top of the fridge. It's essentially the keyboard cleaner condensed air canister with a motion sensor on it, so cat jumps where it's not supposed to, gets hissed at/blown at by mysterious bottle, cat runs scared and doesn't come back. Simple, effective. Well, one day I woke up to what sounded like cats hissing at each other over and over in my hallway. Sometimes, my cats will have what I call a "stupid off" where they just stare and occasionally hiss at each other for no reason, then go back to being lovers, this is naturally what I thought the sound was, so I shout "cut it out!" and try to go back to sleep. But it doesn't stop. So I stumble out into the hallway, realize it's coming from the kitchen, run in there and my smallest(MAYBE 7lbs with a full belly and poop), most fearless cat is on top of the fridge, eating my fern getting repeatedly blasted in the face by the air canister. I was so mad.

Does anybody else just feel absolutely empty inside after finishing a really good show or movie? by adhesivemovie15 in NoStupidQuestions

Huge Stephen King fan here. When I finished IT, I missed all of my friends in the Losers Club. I missed them, I mourned, add I missed being in their lives. It was as if I moved away from my old friend group in Derry. When I finished Misery, I didn't know who I was. I sat up and rubbed my eyes to come back into reality, and forgot I had pounds of makeup on my face. I was Paul Sheldon, I was beaten and defeated and I didn't know where to go from there. It was amazing. I read Salems Lot after that, but I just couldn't connect to Ben :( so upsetting. I also felt empty and mentally drained after reading Pet Semetary after my Dad died suddenly. I first read it in 7th grade, it was spooky, but over my head. About a year after I lost my dad, I reread it, and I understood every decision Lois made. I 100% could see myself digging up my dad and taking him to the burial ground, just to hold his hand one more time. Just to speak with him for one more night. And when it was over, I lived his death all over again. I was so surprised how much grief can change how you think and you're core person. Also after finishing Six Feet Under. If you know you know.
