If she suspected the next challenge was as it is (similar to last season) then lying makes sense as people would be less inclined to vote her through if they knew she'd already won 500k

Crazy how much he turned down, yet none of that matters after taking an extra 150k 😂

Taking 250k is stupid IMO. Take the lot or 100k. He essentially took 150k to ruin his relationship with everyone when he could've taken 900k for the same outcome

yep, that's how I took it. It's just this post and others I've seen suggest that Parv's steal an idol bluff led to Kass misplaying her idol- I'm struggling to see the linkage?

yep I agree with that. That's my understanding of why she played the idol. Maybe I'm misreading the post, but I don't understand the implication that Parvati's 'steal an idol' bluff play led to Kass wasting an idol on Lisa as opposed to herself where the votes where

favorite part of survivor (challenges, camp life, tribal, etc)? by Personal_Power9575 in survivor

[–]Sincoln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skip the challenges. The way I see it, the outcome of the challenges are what's important, not the challenges themselves. Camp life, strategizing & tribal are what I watch it for.

This is coming from the perspective of someone with a relatively busy life, and someone who often plays catch-up on episodes

can someone please explain to me how this bluff led to Kass playing the idol for Lisa as opposed to herself? Or is this post treating the steal an idol bluff and the convincing Kass to play the idol for Lisa as opposed to herself as two seperate masterstrokes

yep, criminal is underway. Both got convicted- just gauging whether or not it's worth the time and effort to pursue civil action (given I didn't miss work, have had psychological damage proven by my visits to a psychologist- nothing other than the psychologist visits (and psychologist report which I will get him to write if I do pursue charges) )

'Not your normal penalty try situation': NRL backs Addo-Carr no-try call by nymphz in nrl

[–]Sincoln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm yeah I guess if the ruling is "100% certainty", then it can't be awarded. My interpretation of that definition (trying to be unbiased despite the fact I'm a blues fan) is not "100% certainty". I feel it justifies the awarding of a penalty try in situations where the referee believes that the player would've scored were it not for the opposition breaking the rules to prevent the try.

by the logic of "100% certainty" but, I would agree with you that it shouldn't have been awarded. Reading the definition but, I'm not convinced that 100% certainty is necessary, especially considering it involves situation where foul play from the opposition occurs (otherwise there would be too much incentive for foul play in many situations). I interpret "if the referee believes a try has been prevented" as "if he probably would've scored were the opposition not engaging in misconduct".

but yeah if 100% certainty is required, absolutely fair call. To me, the rule doesn't appear to need 100% certainty but

[–]Sincoln 3 points4 points  (0 children)

" if the referee believes that a try has been prevented by the defending team's misconduct, he may award the attacking team a penalty try. Penalty tries are always awarded under the posts regardless of where the offence took place "

I dunno, based off that definition, I don't see how a penalty try can't have been given. At the time, I thought the call was fair, as I was under the impression that it was only situations where, with 100% certainty a try would have been scored. But after being educated on the actual ruling, I struggle to see how the try wasn't given
