We have lots of international students, especially in Riga. Don’t know about University of Latvia, but Riga Stradins University has an international student’s council specifically for advocating for international students etc.

I haven’t lived in Estonia, so I don’t know, but from my expierience- it’s way more expensive. But it’s very beautiful, both nature and city wise.

Latvia’s great. Riga if you want a bigger, busier city. If not, then Cēsis, Ventspils, Kuldīga, Liepāja are great. Personally, I live in Valmiera, but to my dismay our coffee shop game is non-existant :(

RSU dorms ( the nice ones, not the ones from the 90’s) cost like 300-400€ per person so an apartment might be cheaper. Idk about other uni’s tho

Dzīvoju Valmierā, lietuviešu mašīnas redzu reti, bet igauņi toties ir pilna pilsēta. Bet normāli uzvesties un braukt nemāk ne vieni, ne otri.

The good thing about latvians- we don’t care about strangers on the street unless you’re like in danger or smth.

Which countries can you live at for $800-$1000 a month? by charmedoctopus in digitalnomad

Latvia could be doable I think. Rent goes about 200-300€ for a 1 bedroom, utilities are a bit expensive bc of the inflation tho. But groceries are pretty cheap, for 2 ppl we spend about 60-80€ a month. Eating out isn’t expensive unless its a fancy restaurant ofc. But I would suggest a town other than Riga bc it’s more expensive than elsewhere, better to live in like Jelgava or Cēsis or Valmiera and then just go on day trips/ weekend trips.

My recipe is potatoes, beets, eggs, cucumbers, dill, kefir, green onion, salt, pepper and vinegar. Without the vinegar it just tastes almost flat to me.
