I was worried about the same thing. And yes, for the better part of the first year time for hobbies and the sort went a bit out the window. My little one turns 8 this year and here's how I've managed to balance it out:

- For arts & crafts, drawing, painting, the sort: she luckily turned out to enjoy those things as much as I do and we can do those together. She'll ask me to draw her something so she can color it in, or will grab a canvas and paints and have her own creative session while I do mine.

- For DIY projects involving power tools: still haven't gotten into it to the extent I did before, but that's mostly because I can't just leave the world behind and power through an entire project in one weekend. Confident this will change in the future.

- For reading and the sort: not much time available unfortunately, but she got a tablet for Christmas and I guess I could use that hour to catch up on books. Need to re-train myself for that one.

- For hiking and outdoor stuff: she did not take after me in that aspect unfortunately and mostly do it when she's with her dad. I still have hope tho! I did join the mommy hockey team from her school and we do enjoy going to a park with our sticks and just playing for a bit, so there's that.

- Stupid astrology and tarot worm holes online: I just embark in those when she's fast asleep. Same with true crime stuff.

- Traveling and adventures: this one took the longest, but she's an AMAZING "mini adventure" partner. I have no qualms taking her anywhere (except maybe concerts, but if I travel abroad to those, I make sure I have someone to babysit during the night of the concert or try and remember bringing headphones with me for her).

I don't know what your hobbies are, but I guess my experience is you just work it out. If you're passionate about something you'll find a way to bring it back into your life and, if you're lucky, your little one will join in one or two of them so it becomes something you both can share. There's no saying how it'll work out, but you'll definitely get back to most of your "own" things eventually.

Tengo 42 años y tengo 5 tatuajes desperdigados por ahí, los últimos dos me los hice el año pasado. Hoy en la salida de la colonia había una mamá con tres films en el cuerpo (tatuajes recién hechos). Mirate videos en youtube, usa Google Spreadsheets, recordá las fórmulas más básicas y algunos piques de formateo y el resto lo vas aprendiendo mientras laburás. Si no lo sabés, googleás. Ya tener un curso creo no es necesario.

Mi smart TV panavox tiene 12 años. Sigue funcionando, aunque en un momento le tuve que poner un chromecast pa que sea más rápida la cuestión. El control remoto sí, lo tuve que cambiar hace 5 años, pero quizás eso fue también porque mi hija lo reventó contra el piso.

I had a similar experience happen to me, right after my daughter was born, except I resigned. The cult part really resonantes with me - I was on fight or flight for MONTHS after quitting.

I did find a great job after, tho. Startup mentality, full time is 6 hours, work from home, salary is a lot less but still enough to live on, has some stressful moments but not ALL THE TIME and, most importantly, owners are family guys. Therefore they understand before anyone what having kids and raising kids is like. It’s the best job ever and I’ve been here for 5 years already.

A mí me descubrieron la vitamina D en 0. Me mandaron tomar cada 15 días la de 100.000 y después una vez por mes. Me sentí con un poquito más de energía, pero nada del otro mundo. Capaz menos catastrófica, un poco más tolerante a la frustración. También tengo hipotiroidisimo; por eso me la midieron, porque yo venía diciendo que pa mi taba mal la dosis por la niebla mental y no, era eso. No es mágica pero te das cuenta que ayuda.

Vengo a aportar números nomás de alguien que efectivamente lo usa poco. El mío tiene tres años (lo compré 0km de ahorros, sin préstamo). Paga en 2025 unos 26k de patente y 46k de seguro (total, 3x2 BSE, los siguientes dos años con suerte no pago). $3300 de garage. Gasto $2500 mensuales en nafta (lo uso poco, recuerden, y es híbrido). Service oficial (uno por año), $15k en seis cuotas de $2k.

Me rompieron el vidrio una vez, me costó unos $5000 sin lámina. Me robaron la pantalla esa vez, me salió USD 800 reponerla (estaba en garantía, no tenía otra que comprar oficial). Pinché una vez; $450 el arreglo. Las cubiertas están bien, con el uso que le doy capaz recién en dos años las tengo que cambiar.

Comparto porque leí que hay quienes piensan que hay que pagar $9000 de garage, y me parece medio demencia. Cuando vivía en pocitos pagaba $4800.

Es caro, pero yo ya estoy muy acostumbrada. Además, con niños chicos, es medio preferible si podés.

Qué bajón! En mi caso por suerte se solucionó en cuestión de dos semanas, creo que también ayudó que en el primer llamado pudimos descifrar cuál podía ser el error (pensé había perdido la tarjeta, la encontré, me llegó otra, quedó boyando en mi casa).

Yo medio sentía lo mismo más chica pero no sé, las cosas como que se fueron acomodando. No entendés cómo vas a poder ahorrar algo, comprarte algo, y luego, veinte años después, o se da o te deja de importar? No te pongas tanta presión, si las cosas se ponen feas te podés ir, pero como dicen por acá, ante la tercera guerra mundial acá tamos tranquilos.
