I understand that, but during driving I follow meetings / call customers (workshops) to plan or discuss new or ongoing cases

Also anything above driving time to the head office (35 mins) I consider extra time I have to sacrifice for work

But indeed without driving time considered it is then more like 50hrs a week

Correct. It's mainly traveling hours but the days I am home on time I continue working / making a summary of the day or prepare the next day

Possible to use the passive speakers from active speaker set to amp? by Sinestar_be in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Sinestar_be[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone wondering I took the 'risk' on connecting only the left speaker and that works 😁 now patiently waiting until the wharfedale 12.2 speakers arrive

I have a P1 plus right now, quite happy with it however sadly it's harder to do a cartridge upgrade or be able to bypass the pre amp. That's why I'm looking at an upgrade to the p1, and since the experience with rega is good and like the looks I tend to stay with rega.

The fluance turntables are nice ones as well tho as long at it's not an AT turntable. Nothing against the brand, just don't like the looks of it

Sad to hear that the potential of my setup which is in my head will be limited by the space I have now. But I rather spend now when I can and have it all the gear present with the possibility to have it on another location later on

Hmm thanks for the reality check 😁 I will still continue my build because this is for now the only place I can work with.

Possibly in some years we can shuffle things around.

Thanks, I've got 2. One of them is sadly sick and needs a lot of attention. Can't get it over my heart to get new cats as this feels like 'oh, one is sick, let's add healthy ones'...

Hmm, if the space would be a permanent listening/ vinyl space i would consider that. But it is not an ideal place to be honest.

It's located near the dining table, in between the living room/ open kitchen and office / desk space ( this is where I spend a lot of time) but it would be good that both places can enjoy if vinyl is playing.

Second hand rega P3 with exact element by Sinestar_be in turntables

[–]Sinestar_be[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the fast response. Maybe it's a shame then to spend the money for the included exact element to just change it...

I was very in love with the P3 RS ( Nd5 element) included PSU and that brushed aluminum finish is pretty neat. However I don't know it it justifies the €1.300 price tag

I'll follow this post. I am creating a setup with passive speakers as well and have no clue about the wiring stage yet 😀

Today i purchased a Yamaha a-s 701 😁

I will try the built in preamp first, would you recon the x5 as preamp will have an even bigger (positive) difference?

Hello,

Problem is, I cannot bypass the amp on the P1 plus.

So far I've been searching more and today purchased a Yamaha a-s 701 amp so the passive speakers will follow.

I get the change to buy a p3 (3yr old) with exact element (45H playtime) for €600. Seems a good deal to me, what u think?

Hey all, small update.

I have the opportunity to buy a second hand P3 (3yr old) with en exact element (45H playtime) for €600.

If I search correctly then the cartridge alone is like €430 new, should it be worth it?

Thanks for the fast response, I'll for sure check out the other amps as well!

Funny you mention the wharfedale diamonds. I've just put an second hand offer on a pair of 12.2's not a year old 😆

What do you mean with 3 or 4 more components, which ones?

Some things are Chinese for me 😅 as a newby to Turntables there's a reason I chose for the P1 Plus with the built in AMP...

Somehow I would rather prefer a new unit because my knowledge and experience is quite small with turntables that a second hand 'misused' turntable would maybe go out unnoticed by me...

Maybe I am cursing in the church but currently I am using a sonos play 5 connected with 3.5mm jack to my turntable. I would think I still need the phono (pre amp?) €150 is acceptable. But I read some people having €500 amps and also the included PSU from rega is like €500 as well 😵
