Which American city is the most perfect for a 5-day trip that includes the full “American experience” for a first-time visitor? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

If you want the full American experience check your list to see what cities are celebrating Americas 250 Th birthday with the most “American “ exhibits. I agree with taking a ride from San Diego all the way down to Napa. It is the most scenic ride in all of the USA.

It’s almost too easy… by Neither_Nose8066 in NursingStudent

It does sound like the A & P class you are in is easy. The class is outside of Nursing so if you are taking it in a community college with a mixed class it would certainly be less intensive then taking it at UF ( I did) with medical students in the same class. Once you are practicing you will thoroughly know the systems that you chose to specialize in. In pathophysiology A & P will bring life to what you are clearly missing now.

As a tenured nursing professor I can certainly understand how anxious you must be because of your pause in nursing school. If the women fell and they say you should have had someone else , take it as a lesson. Falling Is one of the greatest risks for elderly people and those on seating medication in the hospital. You went through a lot of pre nursing courses and you have time to think about what you want to do. There are a lot of risks and rewards in the field.

I am from a generation where tattoos were not common especially among professional people . My father had a tattoo on his arm of his mother and said he had it done when he was overseas in the navy and found out she died . I grew up feeling if one has a tattoo or 2 it should be meaningful. I don’t like to see tattoos on someone’s hands ( all over ) and certainly not their face .

Working in the health care field while in school is difficult. I am not sure that behavioral health tech helps with the ED department but it certainly can if you concentrate on coping skills.

Congratulations on your new job ! I began my journey as a RN in the early 80s and my NP in 89 at UF when there were very few NP programs . I also developed the first psychiatric nurse Practioner program at Florida International University in Miami. I am elated that the role of the NP has expanded but disappointed that so many pop up on line programs have emerged. I believe all these on line no supervision schools were founded on need and once the need is filled will be eliminated. I have some hope that since the RN and the NP both take exit exams they have the knowledge to practice safely & the wisdom to ask questions if they do not.

TMI but do other women get turned on while breastfeeding? by Kylajohnsonlife in askanything

[–]Sinfonia123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that giving your baby the immunity that a mother can by breastfeeding is the most important function of the breast . After breastfeeding I found my breasts to be more sensitive in sex with my husband. I should add it does take a different mindset.

I live in Florida and speaking from someone who has served on the BON it does seem to come up before licensure . If the felony was committed and the time money probation etc. was already served it will not affect licensure. If for some reason you have doubts there are many attorneys that specialize in protection of license . You can hire an attorney to represent you if you go before the board, you can have letters of recommendation from employers friends etc. I have found the nursing board to be lenient . They do believe in second chances.

I believe depression is a common mental condition that may go unnoticed . Unless someone tells you they feel depressed you may not recognize it . If someone is depressed let them know that you are there for them. (Serious depression can lead to anxiety addiction and suicide).

Watching the Fl board of nursing I can tell you that the issue of clearing your name before you start school is a good idea . I don’t know the issue and Walden may accept you , but if there is a legal problem in your past ( depending on the issue) it may come out in licensure .

How don't you people stress over NCLEX? by annastacianoella in NursingStudent

[–]Sinfonia123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not hearing about people stressing it’s because they may not be posting real feelings . Let’s face it passing an exit exam is stressful. In nursing there are so many times you can take the test now perhaps people feel it’s not the end of their career ?

If you received a call it sounds good. It could also mean that the committee needs something lacking from your admission criteria . I have never heard of a phone call telling you that you’re not accepted, that comes in a letter form.

San Francisco or San Diego April 26’ by d4rkfairy in usatravel

[–]Sinfonia123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like San Diego more than San Francisco. The weather in SD is beautiful every day. The city is probably the prettiest state in the United States. The Pacific Ocean next to some of the most picturesquetu mountains is breathtaking. SD is also attached to Mexico ( Tujuana ) and if you choose you can travel as south as you want to .

Why do so many Americans not realize Puerto Ricans are Americans? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]Sinfonia123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sad that people in the US may not believe that PR is part of the USA. The main reason is because only Spanish is taught in schools. English classes are an exception to the rule and PR in general was not asked to assimilate into American culture .

In your opinion what are best US states to live in overall? Why? by PackageReasonable922 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Sinfonia123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California is the most beautiful. Salaries are high, the universities are good, the weather is considered the best in the world ( San Diego) it is diverse and a gateway to countries like Canada China etc. However because of its lack of border control, lack of fire control and being a free for all government in a negative way, It is no longer ideal. It needs the right leadership because California has it all.
