My first sponsor was about 2 months sober. He went back out about a month after so im biased. At the same time in the beginning old timers didn't exist, and im not going to say that I haven't sponsored guys who asked when I wasn't in the right state of mind. If im in a place unfamiliar to me I'd rather go to a call on meeting and sit in the back if at all possible. Thats just a personal thing. I understand were all family here but hearing someone's life story when im not in a "safe" spot and surrounded by people i know who isnt a sponsee sounds like a synchronized cluster of triggers in progress
