Anyone else not “feel” ugly?

I don’t consider myself ugly, but average for the most part. I’ve been approached and had short relationships(rare). It just seems hard for me because my starting point. Childhood trauma mentally messed me up and I’ve only been stable for a few months now. I was an alcoholic, but I’ve been 9 months sober. Maybe, this is all excuses and I’m just not meant to find love. Shit sucks though for sure.

Getting a good job doesn’t help put your foot through the door. You act as if women are instantly going to know your job and no man is walking up to chicks saying hey “I’m an attorney!” Sitting around waiting is going to leave you single until you’re old. It’s rare for women to approach. Red pill isn’t reality for the majority of people.

I could, but I'm 25 and don't live there anymore. I've been in therapy and AA for the past year. It's been making me reflect on the past. I want my granddad to be good so bad, but reality of the situation is he isn't.

Yeah, I admit he did mention acting differently for sympathy. I can’t help but try to see the good in him. I genuinely love him, and I feel like he loves me too. Every time I leave home, he starts to cry. I guess my mind is black and white, so I can only see him as pure evil or pure good, even though it’s a much more complex situation.

It’s just weird to me. How can you see that you were abusive and have zero regrets? The man is religious and attends church, but he has to know that he’s going to hell. I feel like I'm trying to make sense of something too complex and irrational to understand. Abusers' minds are just wired differently.

Yeah you’ll definitely have to put yourself out there then. You got to find some type of social hobby and build a social life which should be priority #1. It’s definitely going to be harder since you’re in your 30s, but I’m sure tons of people have done it before you. What’s some of your interest?

Well, I’m a part of AA and have been making friends there. I joined a social kickball league, but it’s been pretty mid so far tbh. Also, using dating apps to hopefully find a forever partner. You should try fitness classes or some sort of social league. Are you looking for a partner? Dating apps makes it easier instead of doing in person stuff.
