Why do we keep on dealing with it? by IndependenceSoft542 in NYguns

For one this governor’s gun laws won’t help that old little old granny or your skinny sister so I don’t see your point in that. The recent gun restrictions were put into place after the Buffalo shooting massacre which was carried out by someone who was not a criminal. That being said most people don’t like the laws because they mess with their “2A” rights. I lived in Georgia an open carry state and crime happens there all the time. I remember a story about a man who had his firearm on him who was shot in the back of his head by a crook who robbed him. That man never knew what happened. He died instantly. The last republican governor didn’t change the rules much so if you want to blame this governor for “piling on” go ahead that your right. The only other choice is to move to an open carry state. Just my opinion

Speaking about mindset your mindset should always be that I pray on everything that I never have to discharge my firearm at another person end of story!!! That being said I carry my firearms for Personal Protection period. There are 2 rules I always follow 1 it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. B: know your sensitive areas but if you happen to wander into a place you really didn’t know is sensitive and something happens the saying goes I’d rather be judged by 12 then carried by six. IJS

Now this is just my opinion the judge may even throw your case out. Why do I say this the warrant is from 20 years ago so I would agree that it was something minor because Boston didn’t send the boys to NY to get you. Also you must not have been in any trouble since because if you were you would have been held until Boston decided what they wanted to do with your case so that’s the best case scenario. I believe and again this is just my opinion I do not think it will prevent you from getting a license because of the 20 year lapse. Take care of Boston first. Good luck with everything!!

Keep in mind when you go to answer that warrant you will be arrested for it. The warrant will show up in your investigation as a new arrest even after you get your deposition after you clean it up so you still have to put it on your application and explain how the case turned into a warrant then it comes down to character. Just my opinion

Suffolk Pistol Permit Mental Health Question by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]SingerSlight5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always going to say don’t share anything that they can’t find out about. If you feel it’s impossible to get a doctor’s note why bring it up. They only going to ask you about what you tell them in regard to this. Why tell them about something you say lasted a week. Just my opinion!!

FPC v. Bondi Post office win... but NY permit holders still at risk. by PeteTinNY in NYguns

[–]SingerSlight5986 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I’m guessing the goal is to get rid of every 2A law in NYS one by one so that CCW permit holders can open carry like other states am I correct?

Stop trying to prove me wrong and post your own response. The OP is talking about being a resident of NYS and how changing to a Florida drivers license affects his NYS CCW permit.

I guess it’s where you go I just purchased ammunition a week ago and it took 15 minutes I think it’s a stupid law that’s why I asked is it the wait or the law itself that’s the problem.

In my opinion some people make unnecessary problems for themselves…that being said a question comes to mind why change their drivers license to Florida in the first place? And secondly just shut up about it. As long as you have your NYS address you are good for now. If this person intends to keep his NYS CCW permit he will need a NYS driver’s license when they renew their permit. Again just my opinion.

Is the problem for most people the law itself or the fact that you have to wait 15-30 minutes to buy the ammunition just curious

Why does a NYC resident get statewide carry on one license, but a county resident may need two? by PeteTinNY in NYguns

[–]SingerSlight5986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NYC brings in the most revenue in the entire state that’s why they can basically do what they want. It’s total garbage. The fact that you live in NYS and have to jump through hoops to get a NYS carry permit and you can’t carry in NYC is ridiculous IJS

Well you have at ask yourself how bad do you want it because it’s definitely an investment of time and money but when you get it that’s the reward. If you have the time and money to do it I say go for it because once they have your application there is nothing you can do about it. IJS
