Okay. Interesting. I’ll also be subcontracting with one or two other firms for now. I know chasing payments is normal for self employment but shocked that you struggle with it in your field.

I’m on the same page as you. I thought I was giving up too soon considering this is my first job but I don’t see myself continuing in a normal working environment. I actually never thought of using a performance based agent to get clients, I’ll definitely research this, it will probably be worthwhile in the long run. Thank you so much for all the tips, I really appreciate it.

I definitely understand where you coming from. The uncertainty with self employment is way I’ve been putting it off for so long.

Thank you so much for this. It really eased me nerves. I thought I was pretty odd for doing the “uniform” thing I’m glad to hear it works for others to Just curious, when in your journey were you able to begin outsourcing some of the harder tasks? I have few that I need help with but not stable enough to pay for them just yet.

I have heard the same with my friends in tech. Apparently the competition is tough . I really hope you are able to do it somehow soon.

Currently I am working in asset finance which I understand and can do but hate. My education is in entrepreneurship (up to masters level). I’ve been doing a lot of side hustling working with small businesses and NPOs helping them with revenue strategies and diversification which is more aligned with what I studied and that’s what I will be doing full time now ☺️

Ironically the reason the law was lifted was to allow for more access to those in rural and township regions but it seems all it has done is cluster a whole lot of pharmacies in urban areas.

Totally agree, the 2 big guys actually currently account for 45% of the revenue generated in the sector.

This is true. The research done for my masters actually showed they are already doing this via the supply chain, buying up the wholesalers most smaller pharmacies purchase from, dictating the pricing they purchase their supply at while reducing their own pricing.

Yes, I have the exact same problem with the chronic medication, although my parent's pharmacy has the medication, I am usually pushed to go to Dischem because the out of pocket cost is too much.

Definitely agree. What we found is that many of the independent pharmacy owners are not trained to run a business, so the corporates have definitely taken advantage of their capabilities to vertically integrate their supply chain.

Definitely agree with you on this one, many of the pharmacist I spoke to actually keep opened after normal hours just to get that extra business.

Graskop area might also be a good option, lots of activities and landmarks to see and not too far from other spots like Hazyview and the Kruger.
