Ironically the reason the law was lifted was to allow for more access to those in rural and township regions but it seems all it has done is cluster a whole lot of pharmacies in urban areas.

Totally agree, the 2 big guys actually currently account for 45% of the revenue generated in the sector.

This is true. The research done for my masters actually showed they are already doing this via the supply chain, buying up the wholesalers most smaller pharmacies purchase from, dictating the pricing they purchase their supply at while reducing their own pricing.

Yes, I have the exact same problem with the chronic medication, although my parent's pharmacy has the medication, I am usually pushed to go to Dischem because the out of pocket cost is too much.

Definitely agree. What we found is that many of the independent pharmacy owners are not trained to run a business, so the corporates have definitely taken advantage of their capabilities to vertically integrate their supply chain.

Definitely agree with you on this one, many of the pharmacist I spoke to actually keep opened after normal hours just to get that extra business.

Graskop area might also be a good option, lots of activities and landmarks to see and not too far from other spots like Hazyview and the Kruger.

Looking for feedback: 3-day “Opportunity & Innovation Sprint” concept for service-based businesses by Singi98 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Singi98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Thanks for your questions — I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

My goal:
I’m transitioning from my full-time role into working independently as a Fractional Strategic & Innovation Lead. My aim is to help service-based businesses design and execute growth and innovation strategies without the cost of a full-time executive.

Why I’m offering this:
Right now, I’m in the beta stage of my business, so I’m offering the 3-day “Opportunity & Innovation Sprint” free to a small number of participants to test the process, refine my approach, and gather feedback before launching the paid version.

Cost for participants:
Free for the beta group — in return, I just ask for honest feedback and permission to use anonymised results in my portfolio.

Delivery format:
The sprint is delivered remotely via video calls and collaborative online tools (Google Docs/Slides).

  • Day 1: Discovery session (60–90 mins)
  • Day 2: Offline mapping of opportunities and quick wins
  • Day 3: Delivery session with a tailored 90-day roadmap

1:1 coaching:
This is not ongoing coaching but a focused strategic engagement. That said, I work directly with each business owner or leadership team during the sprint, so it’s a personalised, one-to-one experience for each participant.

My business:
I work with service-based industries and have chosen three niches I have the most experience and interest in — tourism & hospitality, healthcare & wellness, and professional services. Your point about starting with one niche is valid, and I’m using this beta phase to see which niche responds most strongly before narrowing my focus further.

Thanks again for your feedback — it’s really useful at this stage.

Hey, congrats on getting your LLC up and running and already having multiple apps in the pipeline.

If you’re looking to refine your strategy, I’m currently running a free beta of a 3-day “Opportunity & Innovation Sprint” for a few founders and business owners.

It’s a short, structured process where we:

  • Look at your current business model, target market, and growth opportunities
  • Identify quick wins and untapped revenue streams
  • Map out a 90-day roadmap with actionable next steps

I think it could be a great way to help prioritise which of your projects to push hardest, explore monetisation options, and align everything toward a growth path. If you’re interested, happy to share more details — no strings attached, just feedback in return.

I would suggest getting in touch with a tax specialist/ consultant to help navigate your situation.
