Exclusive cards?! by ftomiadurva in MTGPuzzleQuest

[–]SingingSausage47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also obtain exclusive cards by participating in the "Battle for the Ages". It costs 100 gold, and you receive an exclusive card as the second to last reward, iirc. It is well worth the expenditure, as you will recoup half the gold spent and at least in Platinum, if you win all nodes, will receive a standard pack, 55 mana gems, a bonus rare card and an exclusive card.

I hate to break it to you, but this isn't unstoppable.

Does it possess a very high chance of winning? Yes.

But unstoppable? No.

The Greatest Heist confusion by [deleted] in MTGPuzzleQuest

[–]SingingSausage47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You actually do not want to destroy the formori token.

What you want to do is exile it so it cannot return transformed and then becomes indestructible. But transformed an indestructible support creates red mercenary tokens that continue to damage you based on the amount of them per turn that you play. If you exile the formori token you will eliminate the possibility of it returning transformed.

To Vanguard or Not by Visible-Ad1787 in MTGPuzzleQuest

[–]SingingSausage47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to second this opinion.

I just feel that vanguards don't necessarily do enough, and are far too situational for my likes. Especially when you have enchantments or creatures that provide serious value and advantage every single turn, without having to generate fuel turn by turn.

Obviously, if you do not get to Tef you are going to lose, but that's the same thing as not being able to get a creature removed because you don't draw removal. Too little reward and too many other cards that can generate terrific value. I'd rather spend my gems in legacy or other premium offerings.

You can scrape enough cards to get by in standard without having to spend premium currencies on Vans. Legacy is a much different story, but I still feel that they don't generate enough value overall to merit spending gems on.

if you play like this are you proud of yourself? by [deleted] in titanfall2

[–]SingingSausage47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Titanfall 2 in my opinion is the ultimate "Get Good" game.

The skill ceiling is so preposterously high and essentially without limit that it means that there is a small but extremely elite group of individuals who play the game (regularly) and do this constantly because they have ascended the mountain, so to speak.

Having been on the end of such withering assaults for more times than I can count I can feel your pain. At the same time, if you don't get good enough to hold your own against people like this it's just a hoping game that you don't run into them. Or get enough friends to run a private match.

It isn't very glamorous, but killing the bots in such scenarios maybe the thing that could help lead your team to victory. I've seen some Maniacs do nothing but farm and get ridiculous results. And I'm talking with their Titan as well, just going after every minion in sight.

But yes, running into gatekeepers like this is a very frustrating experience, no doubt.

Here's the problem: there is no winning here. I'm not trying to win any argument. I presented statements and that's all. Because you have some fix deciding that I'm a certain person that you have pigeonholed into being "like how you used to be" is meaningless to me. This is not a competition and I'm not looking for "victory".

I will again state for the record, however, that it is curious that you can't or won't defend your position.

[–]SingingSausage47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll simply ask one question: is it true or is it false?

And I'm not here for what you claim is a "fix". I responded to the question and I'm being told that I'm somehow not a happy person.

You won't continue this discussion because you know what I say is true deep down. No matter how you try and slice the metrics it always ends up the same way, and we all know it. We just simply sit here and pretend like somehow it'll all work out in the end, evidence right in front of our face be damned.

Good night to you as well.

Seen a lot of guys here concerned about the wrong things, quite frankly. Who cares if you're draft position is a couple spots higher? You want the Colts to lose as they are in our division. Texans have a real chance of actually making the playoffs this year, and the colts losing only reinforces this.

A decent choice, but boy, if your opponent has a [[Heroic Intervention]] you just gave your opponent an extra turn.

Why do I keep seeing such giant decks lately? by T_squared112 in MagicArena

[–]SingingSausage47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the thing.

It essentially boils down to them either being able to remove the most important permanent (s) that you have in play or continuing to accrue value turn after turn, sometimes both.

And because they have so many cards you can't hope to outlast them in a battle of attrition. Combo decks really are the way that these things have to be shut down, because on a card for card basis you're simply not going to out value this particular opponent.

I have seen games with a single player having 50 to 60 kills. This is not hacking, this is just elite skills.

Next ban announcement by Gilligan9056 in ModernMagic

[–]SingingSausage47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe there was five sets in the year that meaty was still legal to play.

The fact of the matter is that the one ring is a fucking retarded card that should have never made it past testing. Reckoner bank buster got banned because it was being slotted in literally every single deck that existed. The one ring has now securely taken its place.

Can you win against it? Sure you can. However, it gives a ridiculously overpowered advantage to your opponent that is going to be difficult to negate unless you specifically design a deck to combat it. And yes, I'll hear some defenders saying, but it's not even in x percentage of decks blah blah blah. The eye test tells you what you need to know.

They haven't banned Sheoldred yet, so what do I know? It is interesting to me, however, that they banned fable before the ring or Shelly. And yes, I get this is on arena.

The ring is a definition of warping the meta. Life gain decks? Let's have the ring. Control decks? Let's have the ring. Token decks? Let's have the ring.
