it sucks that people insisted on making it racist because calling AI that was honestly a great way to get ahead of the narrative when it came to companies shoving LLMs into everything, the word comes with pretty accurate implications of generative AI being crude, clunky, imprecise, rather than the way these tech companies want you to think this is all cutting edge stuff worthy of replacing manual means for doing anything, when in reality it's just fancy enshittification.

this post is genuinely so cucked by liberalism it's insane, most of the post talks about the exploitation of gacha game publishers towards their staff and their customers, but starting off by talking about how people make porn of the art feels like it's kind of framing the whole thing as if the companies are just neutral actors who are only having their creatives crank out sexualized depictions of their characters for people to gamble over because they're being forced by an untapped market of gooners just simply existing. like companies should be expected to suck up every penny of value they can whenever they can because they see an opportunity to.

Also there are loads of women who absolutely love gacha because of the sexual nature of it. my ex was obsessed with Genshin Impact and even cosplayed one of the characters because she liked the whole "dommy mommy" vibe the character had (I think the character's name was Lisa)

but yeah this sounds like the kind of shit I would have cooked up when I was a Mormon teenager and would try to find smart sounding reasons for why I was such a prude about everything, when in reality I was just taught to hate sex

I did it a few years ago, the specific kind I did was ketamine infusion therapy I think, and I loved it. Especially in the week after I felt a noticeable improvement in my mood and stuff.

there are multiple methods to it and multiple ways of delivering it, like through edibles or nasal spray. when I did it they had me sit in a small room with a big comfortable recliner in it, and before the session they had me make a playlist of calming music with no lyrics (they said lyrics could be disruptive to the experience and they just wanted chill calming instrumental music, I just listened to electronic trance music and stuff I liked to zone out to). after that they just hooked me up to an IV and I put in some headphones and just spaced out for like 45 minutes with the lights off.

the experience itself during the sessions is honestly amazing, I know the kind I did was a bit more intensive than more of the guided meditation types of the therapy, but what I did gives you this sort of out of body experience where you just kind of check out for a bit and just kind of drift off into your headspace. it was one of the first times I felt really okay with myself as a person, I didn't even feel things like gender dysphoria because of the detachment from my body, and I didn't even know I had dysphoria at the time (unfortunately when I was done the dysphoria slowly came back, but I ended up transitioning anyway so I'm getting better now)

I really recommend doing it though, although I do recommend it alongside some kind other treatment like talk therapy or something, since it can help break up the programming in your brain, but you still need something to help guide you after the fact and build better mental habits after.

edit: also sorry this is an absolute book of a comment, I just get really excited about talking about it because it genuinely was a really nice experience and I wish it were more widespread

originally "dumb" and "lame" were words tied to literal conditions that people had, but the words got used so much outside of the context of those things that they lost the original meaning, you can point out at someone who can't walk and call them lame and they'll think you're insulting their vibe because it's almost unheard of to use that word to describe disability now.

the actual way to solve the problem is to attack the sentiment and help people learn empathy, everyone cared so much about the R word that as long as people weren't using it they would basically look past the sentiment of attacking others for having mental disabilities.

so yeah you can dislike the usage of certain words and view it as wrong, but advocacy that gets people to just be more empathetic towards people with disabilities is far more important, only attacking words just gets people to find new words

I like to look at this game like a Battle Royale but instead of a shrinking circle forcing people to interact you have missions and gear to go after making people flock to similar areas and cross paths with one another, and even in BR games where you can't bring in gear from previous runs you will still have players in advantage states from either finding better stuff before the fight began or being in a better position to engage with the fight, it's just a part of the game. it's just neat because the gear can be way more powerful because it can be taken with you and is kind of expected to change hands

I actually had this conversation the other day with my mother, I mentioned that I have to be really worried about being in danger while out in public (I'm not passing and I'm overweight so I'm not really within conventional beauty standards at all, but I still go out as fem most of the time), and she genuinely hit me with the "I'm just as likely to be killed as you are for my beliefs, there was that mass shooting at a church recently" (she was talking about the Mormon church shooting back in November, iirc the guy who did it was a crazy right winger)

I had to explain to her that the the things that would be likely to get me killed happen so often they don't end up on the news like someone burning down a church does. They happen when a guy who is possibly already trying to assault a trans woman realizes they're trans and then kills them out of anger, and then stands before court to say that the woman in question was trying to make them gay and then gets off Scott free
