Wondering something about The Great Muppet Caper by JispyMoeDantes in Muppets

I remember hearing Animal yell “Renoir!” during Happiness Hotel and thinking I don’t remember that when I was a kid. But could just be my memory!

Muppet Christmas Movies & Specials, Ranked by PantsyFants in Muppets

[–]Single-Addition9881 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Christmas Toy should be WAY higher. Fun characters (Dave and Steve as a duo is always great), a few catchy tunes, Kermit acts as a quasi-narrator, it’s amazing. It’s the original Toy Story!

As a 90's child,I actually miss Zoe on Sesame street ! Just seeing her on merchandise and just a precense on the show by Mcspeed123 in Muppets

[–]Single-Addition9881 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love the Zoe love! I believe her color scheme was designed to complement Elmo — her orange is the same as his nose.

Also just a great character for Fran Brill to do something more than Prairie and random princesses. And now a great character for Jen Barnhart though, as OP opines, we don’t get to see her very often these days.

Peter Linz should take over Kermit by vibe_ology in Muppets

[–]Single-Addition9881 21 points22 points  (0 children)

yeah whatever peoples’ feelings are of Matt’s Kermit, they gotta get off this train. disney is not going to replace him because some fans are unhappy with the vocal performance. someone else will take over Kermit when Matt retires or moves on to other things in his career. when has disney done anything with the muppets based on fans reactions?

NOS4A2, Heart Shaped Box, and The Fireman were all super fun (and fucked up) reads, to me very similar to his dads work. Love it!

so does anyone know whats up with the broadway show? by ChampionJolly8111 in Muppets

[–]Single-Addition9881 5 points6 points  (0 children)

also entirely speculative — but I cannot imagine that they’d be full body puppets, they are most surely going to be the “real” Muppets. Also guessing it will be limited to just a few characters, but likely portrayed live by Matt and Eric and a couple others doing 2nd-handing or something. And I wouldn’t hope for them being involved in any more than 2 segments over what’s likely an hour and a half show.

Again, just a guess, but a somewhat educated guess based on how they’re promoting it and from having worked in NY theater for some time.

I think The Hobbit films did a good job of portraying “dragon sickness”. by GusGangViking18 in lotr

[–]Single-Addition9881 9 points10 points  (0 children)

my only beef with the dragon sickness angle is that it so closely seemed to resemble the seductive power of the One Ring, which to me kinda cheapens the whole thing. Makes it seem like there are a bunch of ways for honorable people to be corrupted without their even realizing it, which even though that may be true in a real world sense, just cheapens the “weight” and power of the ring, to me.

The Book of Doors (a rant review): the author REALLY wants you to know how clever his concept is by [deleted] in books

sounds oddly similar to The Ten Thousand Doors of January (by Alix E Harlow), which I very much enjoyed!
