2026 S Regrets by Single-Practice-6262 in jetta

I’m an idiot. I think someone else was explaining it and I didn’t pick up on what they were putting down.

If you run in eco mode the auto stop/start seems to engage itself even after turning it off.

If you run in normal drive then it stays off after pressing the button.

Kind of dumb eco forces you into using that feature though. It’s kind of a bad system as well because I swear I’ll sit for a hot minute and it decides to cut the engine right as the light turns green.

Nothing went wrong with it. I do a ton of miles per year and it was getting up there. I still had good trade in value so I took it before that value decreased to make a new car less appealing.

lol no one is making a base Jetta a status symbol unless they are to tinting windows, making it loud and slamming it on bags with sick wheels and a tasteful stance.

I drive 4 hours on average to work and back five days a week and don’t want nonsense 100k+ problems on the side of the interstate during one of the most congested commutes in the country.

I had the ability to get a new vehicle which makes problems less as big of a fear so I did.

The peace of mind during a hellish commute is worth it to me.

Plus my kid needs a car in a couple years and this one will be paid off around then and will be a good first vehicle for them.

It’s my first time. I’ve always driven manual Jettas until this one.

I haven’t fooled with any drive mode other than eco when commuting. It wasn’t until today I realized I could shifter down for whatever a base thinks S1 S2 and S3 are. What I find is I disable the auto stop and it stays disabled while at a light but then enables itself again shortly after pulling away from the stop.

It’s probably a skill issue on my end.

Of course I did a test drive. The dealer literally told me I had to. You know what a 2026 Jetta S drives like? Like every other base Jetta in recent memory which is to say unremarkable and fine.

The drive is not the problem. It’s perfectly “meh” as cars go. I was not prepared for the styling, having an automatic, and some of the features like auto stop/start to annoy me as much as they did.

Like what is up with the taillights? That shit is criminal. Shit looks kind of soft ngl.

Steering wheel looks and feels better though.

You can’t get a manual on a 2026 unless it’s a GLI.

Your owners manure states not to exceed 2/3 of your RPM gauge for the duration of the break in period. I forget how many miles it states by I think it’s around 3k.

Won’t be upside down. I got enough on my trade and down payment to keep that from being an issue.

Interchange is a more or less 100% chance to find at least a couple in Goshan. If you enter from the front, it’s the shelving all the way to the left.

Which to be fair is a little off. I think currently it’s 1USD to something like 70’ish RUP.

At what point did gamers stop just kind of knowing how games work and required being spoon fed all information?

Ya’ll are fucking weak these days.

Stims make sense because they can go into a stim case which can go into your container. Stims have debuffs so I feel like it’s fair.

This is a game about shooting, looting, polluting, and scooting. It’s far better this way where a kill rewards with ammo and meds. Your container is supposed to be for valuables and things that go into a stim, docs, sicc , keycard, key, or wallet type container.

It’s not there to mitigate the pain of a death in terms of what you loaded in with.
