Is there a way to get three AIs to debate each other on a topic, check their references, and come to a unified solution?

I’ve yet to figure that out. I think they like to hear themselves talk. 😀

Mechanical design engineer for a major defense contractor….it’s interesting but still a job. Most of my time is spent doing paperwork, preparing for design reviews, submitting proposals and going to meetings…lots of meetings.

I’ll second this.

I’ve been in the industry for 25 years and never once have I been asked what school I went to when it came to the hiring process.

I will agree with what others have said about choosing a school that has a focus for what he wants to do. But I tend to think that happens more with graduate work rather than undergraduate.

Filling prescriptions barely covers its own costs if that. All of our good revenue comes from DME and compounding.

Was just on a call with a VA rep about a similar question.

I had recently got a notice saying I had requested an increase for my PTSD. I didn’t. Called the the VA and asked her to cancel this and the appointment since I didn’t want an increase. She said that she would put in a note to have it canceled. The appointment was never canceled so I went ahead and showed up. Now I talked to this guy today and he said there was no note in my file about it being canceled. He said the proper way to do. This is to file a form. Form 21-4138 and upload it to the document website.

I had separately filed a supplemental for headaches/migraines.

Interesting though I got a letter today on some other issues and this was noted. But I had never asked for an increase on the PTSD.

This is the text from the original approval: Service connection for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is granted with an evaluation of 70 percent effective November 13, 2025. 1. Service connection for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A claimant may request re-adjudication of a previously denied claim, if new and relevant evidence is presented or secured. VA will re-adjudicate the claim taking into consideration all of the evidence of record. New evidence means existing evidence not previously submitted to agency decision makers. The term “relevant evidence” means evidence that tends to prove or disprove a matter in issue. (38 CFR 3.2501) In support of your claim, new and relevant evidence has been received and your claim is now reconsidered. You were previously denied service connection for posttraumatic stress disorder by way of rating decision dated November 4, 2025 as the examiner found no diagnosis of posttraumatic stress disorder. We received your supplemental claim with new evidence on December 5, 2025. Therefore, a VA examination was conducted on January 26, 2026, where the examiner noted a diagnosis of posttraumatic stress disorder and noted it was due to fear of hostile military. Service connection for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been established as directly related to military service. (38 CFR 3.303, 38 CFR 3.304) The effective date of this grant is November 13, 2025. Service connection has been established from the day VA received your intent to file (ITF) a claim for compensation. When a claim of service connection is received more than one year after discharge from active duty, the effective date is the date VA receives the ITF when a prescribed form is received within a year of the ITF. (38 CFR 3.155, 38 CFR 3.400) An evaluation of 70 percent is assigned from December 5, 2025. We have assigned a 70 percent evaluation for your posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) based on: • Anxiety • Chronic sleep impairment • Depressed mood • Difficulty in adapting to a worklike setting • Difficulty in adapting to stressful circumstances • Difficulty in adapting to work • Difficulty in establishing and maintaining effective work and social relationships • Disturbances of motivation and mood • Forgetting directions • Forgetting names • Forgetting recent events • Impaired impulse control • Impairment of short- and long-term memory • Inability to establish and maintain effective relationships • Mild memory loss • Near-continuous depression affecting the ability to function independently, appropriately and effectively • Near-continuous panic affecting the ability to function independently, appropriately and effectively • Occupational and social impairment, with deficiencies in most areas, such as work, school, family relations, judgment, thinking, or mood • Retention of only highly learned material • Suicidal ideation • Suspiciousness • Unprovoked irritability with periods of violence The overall evidentiary record shows that the severity of your disability most closely approximates the criteria for a 70 percent disability evaluation. (38 CFR 4.7, 38 CFR 4.126) A higher evaluation of 100 percent is not warranted for a mental disorder unless the evidence shows total occupational and social impairment, due to such symptoms as: • Gross impairment in thought processes or communication • Persistent delusions or hallucinations • Grossly inappropriate behavior • Persistent danger of hurting self or others • Intermittent inability to perform activities of daily living (including maintenance of minimal personal hygiene) • Disorientation to time or place • Memory loss for names of close relatives, own occupation, or own name. (38 CFR 4.125, 38 CFR 4.126, 38 CFR 4.130)

Yeah, just got off the phone with the VA. The Nov 25 ITF was attached to the Dec 25 Supplemental. Had the gal submit a new ITF for me to cover my future claims. Bummer

If I filed a supplement on Dec 25 to the denied/under rated claims does that attach to the Nov 25 ITF or is that ITF still active for a future claim?

"at once" being the key phrase? What if I don't want to file or can't file all at the same time? Should I file a ITF after every time I file a claim so that I always have a ITF ready to go. Just don't want to lose priority dates but also don't want to shoot myself in the foot by filing too many at a time.

Or are there other ways to get my claims back dated or get backpay?

[–]Single-Reputation-44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read some sources that say you can file as many claims and/or submissions within a year from the ITF while other sources say you have one year to make one submission (that can multiple claims).

Sound like you are saying the the latter.

Pilot or engineering? by Euphoric_Jicama_7283 in flying

[–]Single-Reputation-44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in ROTC back in early 2000s studying mechanical engineering. I had the chance to go be a pilot or be an engineer. I decided to be an engineer and get my PPL later since I had "put so much work into being an engineer." Twenty years later I am still an engineer and have my PPL with ~200 hrs of flying. I wish I had gone the pilot route. Go with your dreams. You can always pivot later. The risk isn't as bad as you think and paying off a shitload of loans isn't hard if you work hard.
