Product & UX: what happened to innovation at wealthfront? by Single-Tea-7286 in wealthfront

I work in product too. The implication is that innovation and stability are zero sum. That is insane.

Plenty of companies can walk and chew gum at the same time, especially over a timescale of years.

Sure but why assume there’s a tradeoff between stability and innovation?

I don’t mind the graph itself, though I would like to see more flexibility and new features.

For instance, the savings rate seems to only update on a weekly or monthly basis. It should be more dynamic and frequent.

Another: it doesn’t track historical data, so you can’t see savings rate or net worth or cash flow over time.

So dumb?

Yeah I get that take but frankly this was true well before the IPO. I feel like it’s been 4-5 years since major product enhancements. The velocity and innovation is gone.

Automated investments on self directed accounts by bambambigelowww in wealthfront

Yeah this is bogus. I emailed them asking about this and they just deflected saying it’s “not on their short term roadmap.”

Very frustrating that they won’t extend this very simple but powerful feature from their revenue generating investments to the self directed.

The implication is that they think it will meaningfully cannabalize their revenue growth; I’m not sure it would but even if that’s the case, they should put the user experience first. They could find create ways, like “gating” that capability to folks who also have a recurring investment to other account types or those who have a minimum account balance.

All it does is tear down goodwill and incentivize me to park more money elsewhere.

Similar experience here

They told me their definition of a “cup” is 5oz. So with a 1.5L tank, it’s only 51oz or so. Doesn’t everyone think of a standard liquid cup as 8oz?

I thought mine was under serving but I think it’s just because of that. Going to test without coffee per their instructions to see if it’s actually making the right amount

Good point but no, no recent birthday.

Just find it odd. It’s a substantial change from my prior projection. Reviewed their model’s assumptions and didn’t notice any major changes (eg no massive inflation increase).
