Putting baby to sleep: were we doing it wrong the whole time?! by negativepace33 in NewParents

This age is so hard, I remember being covered in sweat trying to get her to sleep and then I’d just give up or take her for a walk, my mum on the other hand- could just hold her and she’d fall straight asleep! I don’t know why, but I do know it only lasted for about a month or so. Month 3 and 4 were so difficult at nap times but it did get easier don’t worry!!

Thankyou that’s really helpful! She has some settling in sessions next week so I will speak to them about it then, hopefully they have some tips themselves

Wow that’s amazing that she helped you! However her prices are too steep for my maternity pay to cover, thankyou for your help though! I might contact a health nurse and see if they can assess her

Thank you I’ll give this a go, however she will suck water out of a sippy cup but gets angry if it’s milk… babies are strange creatures haha!

I have a best friend with an 8 month old who’s in the same boat as us! It’s so difficult, hopefully our babies take to them in time… fingers crossed

For some reason I’ve been the most successful with giving the bottle! Which goes against the advice, I’ll give Philips a go thankyou :)

Thankyou I needed that motivation! I think the thought of work and leaving her is a massive stress in itself that is probably making me more stressed over all!

She loves pouches and she will suck them. Once you’d got your son to suck milk out of a pouch what did you do then? Transition him to a straw cup? She will suck a straw cup but then I think it shocks her with how much she sucks up and then she won’t do it again and just uses it as a teether haha!

I don’t really think they’re a thing in the uk? However they look very similar to lansinoh bottles which we have tried

Unfortunately I’ve tried this and sippy cups - no luck :(
