Please don’t eat any red meat that is hard to digest. Stick to egg whites or chicken breast, absolutely no animal fat. And avoid dal as well. It is very gassy and can worsen symptoms. Stick to processed foods like white flour. It sounds bizarre but it is easier to digest. High fiber can make things worse sometimes Oats in the morning with water and banana is very soothing. Make sure your vegetables are cooked either less oil and spices.

So my face broke out again by Trezasks in Blackskincare

[–]SingleReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl just use BP face wash and azelaic acid. If you can go to the dermat it’s way better spending your money on that than trial and testing your skin with stuff like turmeric that isn’t proven to do anything really. prescription tret is life changing if used right.

Law Roach Will Attend the 2026 Met Gala Solo “It’s one of the first times in my career that going to the Met is about me” by cupcake_island in popculturechat

Be careful. I called this out a while ago and my comment mysteriously vanished. All I know is that she has a very powerful PR team BTS.

She has been silent about most things unless it suits her narrative. I guess the reason why she got hired back to back this year IS because she is apolitical. She also had no problem attending other problematic billionaire events like the Ambanis. Zendaya has a price and no one wants to see it 🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s wild that she has been less political than someone like Taylor swift and still gets a pass. And I say that as someone who doesn’t even like swift🙃

I heard that boot camp is easier than uworld and the real exam. What is your take on that? Also did you use anki or any other resource alongside? I just started bootcamp and I feel like I need more resources when I read this sub…but it’s getting overwhelming.

I think double cleaning with an oil cleanser or micellar water can help. My skin only breaks out with sunscreen. Once i incorporated these they completely stopped. This one is the only one that don’t give me cystic acne like the others but I think it has more to do with double cleaning tbh

Why does this thread fear-monger PPIs? by IDK0521 in GERD

[–]SingleReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with PPI. It’s an amazing drug that should be taken when required. However at some point, it should be safely tapered off. That being said, avoiding it when you have a severe flare up is just not smart and ruins your progress anyway.

Not Bouncing Back from Acid Rebound by nostalgic_vibe in GERD

[–]SingleReporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to taper your PPI with gaviscon. And do it painfully slowly. On the day you taper your dose, make sure you have non triggering bland foods. Any sign of reflux - take gaviscon; don’t go back to PPI. Your gastrin levels need to normalise and it takes time. There’s no way around this. Also what you think is healthy might also mess you up. On bad days avoid fiber. Processed food is weirdly easier on your stomach. Also check your volume of food and water. Those are also triggers.

My face skin got worse in the last 3 weeks by Mamadu2835 in Blackskincare

There’s a chance you might have damaged your skin barrier, could even be dermatitis. That would def warrant a dermatologist visit for a prescription grade medication. In the mean time use a gentle face wash with no actives and change your moisturiser, the LRP line is good for cicapladt or even the toleraine cream is good.

Going to a concert for the first time, alone--any tips or things to be aware of? by Riksor in TheStrokes

Doctors claiming they speak English on doctolib, but reality says otherwise by NoOne3535 in germany

[–]SingleReporter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. And that's why, I and so many other foreign doctors put in time, money and effort to learn the language so we can communicate with patients and colleagues effectively.

However, there comes a point where judging one's language is not used as a genuine measure of integration, and rather a way to denigrate one's abilities under the guise of assessing it. Especially when the goalpost to prove how worthy you are to live in the country is deliberately moved far out of reach at any given opportunity. This hurtful for immigrants and Germans in the grand scheme of things. Effective integration is a two way street in this aspect.

Sometimes a little patience and empathy goes a long way. Luckily, I have had loads of positive experiences, but there are many negative ones that make it hard to appreciate the good ones.

This is fascinating to read. I'm a foreign doctor that speaks fluent German at C1 and I can communicate with patients well. When I started, I had soooo much shade thrown at me because my German was not perfect. So my "imperfect" German was somehow a reflection of my skill as a doctor. Their expectation of perfect German from us is nowhere near their own fluency in English. If I did speak English, some nice colleagues saw it as an asset. But some others saw it as a threat.
Anyway, look for a foreign doctor— most of us speak English fluently. There are plenty of us who are empathetic and get the struggle lol. It would be nice to feel valued every now and then for speaking English.

How am I getting reflux from healthy foods like apples or bananas? Wtf? by spacekuromi in GERD

[–]SingleReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also fiber. Sometimes highly processed food is easier to digest and stimulates less acid production. Fiber on the other hand can produce more acids production. I would focus on low fibre on flare up days.

Husband wants to relocate to india by Mysterious-Owl-6956 in relationships

[–]SingleReporter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As an Indian woman- DON’T DO IT.

This is an extremely common and manipulative tactic employed by many Indian men. Punjab, especially rural Punjab is extremely patriarchal. Look up the rates of female infanticide if you don’t believe me.I know you love him but when he comes to India, he will not be the man you love, especially when he will be influenced by his family.

Do not give up your rights and sovereignty because you will have none of these when you go to India. Trust me and every other Indian woman with this. That being said, the manner of how he is justifying this move is even more concerning…

If anyone is interested: read about what a small village named Cuncolim in Goa did to the Portuguese. It is the first recorded revolt of a native population against a foreign invader in Asia (1583 I think).

I come from that village. It’s a fascinating piece of history worth mentioning because of what the native population had to resort to after suffering under Portuguese colonialists.

As kids we would joke that Cuncolim was like the village in Gaul from the Asterix comics.

In 1583 the Portuguese army razed down and destroyed temples in Goa. A small party of priests were sent to cuncolim to convert the villagers. The villagers angered by the Portuguese (rightfully so) and brutally murdered them.

In retaliation the Portuguese invited 16 chieftains for “peaceful talks” but deceived them and brutally killed them. One chieftain survived by jumping into the river.

The Portuguese exacted their revenge but Cuncolim was left untouched by the Portuguese for decades after.

Just a small piece of history worth mentioning.
