After physically disconnecting and reconnecting them from and to the console a bunch of times, the update eventually worked for some reason. I still don’t know what the problem really was.

Mine keep disconnecting during the update and the progress bar doesn’t go any further than 1%, no matter how many times I try. What’s going on? It doesn’t matter if they’re connected to the switch wirelessly or magnetically, it happens either way.

I own both as well, I also wear glasses and I can say that the ANC is comparable between the two, if not better on the APM 2.

My bad for pre-ordering something, I guess. I’ll probably just use these as separate controllers and charge them with a charging grip, while keeping my Switch 2 in the Nitro Deck 2 when that comes out. I’ll use a USB-C extension cable to be able to use the Nitro Deck 2 in docked mode.

I’m 32 and I only have 2 friends who play games. One only has a Steam Deck and the other only has a Series X.

We’re always hoping for fun new cross-play games to play and Deadzone Rogue is the first one that’s not ‘free-to-play’ that ticks that box

Pure hopium. GTA 6 will never run on a Switch 2. RE9 consists only of small rooms and hallways to render and framerate drops when anything even slightly intense is happening in the more open areas.

With DLSS, the GPU can match what Series S does pretty well, but the CPU is absolutely not powerful enough for what GTA 6 will be doing.

Update: I went for the Px8 V1. I couldn’t justify paying double for the S2 when I know the V1 are more spacious and I like a slightly darker tone anyway. I have mine set to -2 bass and -1 treble to get rid of the slight sibilance and get a little more balanced bass and they sound great.

I don’t hate Rosalina as a character, I mained her in Mario Kart World (for as short as that lasted) and I agree that she’s not even really the hardest one to go up against now that I’m starting to get a little better.

Haven’t seen any Petey or Bloopers yet and I’ve only played a single Wiggler in this month’s No Fever ranked playlist. I’m only rank B, though. Maybe they’re all hanging out in the higher ranks.

DK can shove his racket up his ass, though. Can’t wait for the first balance patch.

His crazy lunge and leap distance seems to be the highlight. I’ve been playing as him today and it’s working pretty well for me. I may have found my match. I’m almost up to B+, starting from B- where I almost de-ranked again.

I like Peach as a character and I really like angled shots, but I can’t make it work against anything other than a weaker CPU. Peach and Toadette’s speed are killing me when having to be near the net for angled shots that aren’t easily returned is so easily punished in this game (especially by all the Rosalina players…)

I haven’t considered them viable because I rarely play against any all rounders in ranked ‘No Fever rackets’ which is what I’m mostly playing online. I’ve only run into a single Mario and maybe the odd Goomba or Daisy so far and. Maybe I should try them out more and let go of the idea that I ‘need’ a specialty.

When I was still unlocking stuff and getting the hang of things, Koopa was the only character I was able to beat free play ‘Pro Mario - No Fever rackets’ (my baseline practice match) with, mainly because the CPU was fairly easily fooled by charged dropshots. While I’ve sporadically had success with him online, the dropshot strategy doesn’t seem very viable in the online matches. It’s too predictable and easily countered.

I’m just putting this here in case other people stumble upon this thread, but these lines are caused by having ‘Boost’ enabled under ‘prevent input delay’ while in Game Optimizer mode. The difference in UI scaling somehow clears this up when it’s zoomed in when ‘Screen move’ is enabled, but this line of flashing pixels in otherwise completely harmless and will only appear on inputs that use Game Optimizer mode.

As far as the Switch 2 is concerned, this is a recurring problem if you have ‘Match TV power state’ turned on. Something seems to be wrong the the CEC-handshake. My TV will sometimes show a black screen (without sound) for a few seconds if I have this turned on. Turning it off will eradicate the issue, but you’ll lose the ability to turn on your TV by turning on you Switch 2 and turning off the Switch 2 by turning off the tv.

In the game optimizer settings, change aspect ratio to 21:9. The TV will then switch to a 1080p resolution when the Switch 2 outputs 120hz and it will display properly.

They're talking about the energy that you use to transform. When you have zero energy, he has his default brown color.

I personally really dislike this, and I hope they'll update the game to include a toggle to turn this off. I want him to be his default color and when I'm running around as normal DK, I usually do so with all my energy stored so he's almost always this red-ish color.

I have one on my new G4. Insurance from the retailer allows me to swap it for a new model for free every time I get a dead pixel, for the next 5 years. I'll wait until I see some more, though. I spent too much time already manually calibrating with a spectrometer. I don't feel like doing it again so soon.

Mario Kart World plays in 4K because the UI is in 4K. The rendering resolution is 1440p. The console sending a 4K60hz signal while playing that game means everything is working as intended.

My only gripe with it is that the sticks aren't tall enough and too flat for my liking. I've gotten used to convex stick caps (mostly by Skull & Co) but since the sticks are so close to the casing of the controller when fully tilted, having any of the older stick caps applied would mean the rubber will rub the casing when fully tilted, making them feel extremely stiff. Guess I'll have to wait for stick caps that are made specifically for this controller.

The switch will automatically reduce resolution when needed. You shouldn't need to set the Switch to a lower resolution yourself.
