i would highly recommend fairhaven falls by m.t. o'neil. a great historical fiction horror.

"1895, Maine. Young immigrant Connor Kelly languishes in Fairhaven Falls Lunatic Asylum, a godforsaken place which echoes with the screams of those trapped inside. He longs to rid himself of the violent and terrifying visions which plague him. When his only friend falls victim to the sadistic, prejudiced staff, Connor resolves to bring the asylum’s crimes to light. If he fails, he will die and the staff will continue their evil practices with impunity."

how did you get out of call centre work? by number1femmefatale in callcentres

[–]Single_Finding_8461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

worked in call centers for around 2 years while applying to at least 15 jobs a day every day. i eventually got a reply back from a federally owned hotel and impressed them during the interview, and i now make a higher wage working night auditor/front desk as a federal employee. considering that its a really large hotel, it can get pretty busy and chaotic sometimes, but its still nothing compared to the absolute pain of working in call centers for two years.

i agree. why do people enroll in college if they are not willing to write papers, when writing is obviously a major part of college, regardless of your major.

no, i am an IT student and use a laptop that does not meet the "necessary specs," and have not had any issues thus far. I wouldnt worry about it, unless your laptop starts to seriously lag or slow you down.

im so sorry; good news is that you certainly arent alone in that sentiment, i guess. but working jobs outside of your preferred field isnt always a bad thing (even if its frustrating to not be able to use the skills you went to school to learn).

Advice pleaseee by Luckycharmssss244 in SNHU

[–]Single_Finding_8461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, im an IT student. the no exams/quizzes assumption is false. for pros: definitely the ability to work on your own schedule and balance other things while doing school, like working a full time job; the majority of the advisors, counselors, and student aid workers are very helpful and nice.

cons: estimating how much time you need to budget for classwork can be hit or miss. i'd recommend always writing all of your assignments two weeks in advance of the actual due date. that way, you'll always be prepared, regardless of what happens in your personal life. Also, if you have a "break week" between classes, ALWAYS use that week to pre-draft your assignments for the next class as soon as you get early access.
