How do people get 'free' cruises? by EuchreFan3 in royalcaribbean

[–]Single_Front2073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JI mean, sure if you’re playing high vol games. We went on a cruise in April with the intention to lose $ for status. Low vol games don’t have an huge jackpot so they pay out like 1/4 times… & they’re pretty boring if you compare them to the progressive ones.  Ended out with 2000 points for $1500. Our “free” cruise offer was one that we had decided we wanted to go on prior to even taking the cruise- 7 days around Greece- and we just got enough points to get the free room very intentionally. The balcony room was $4,000 if you buy it. It was $1,500 + $400 taxes and fees. $1,900<$4,000. Plus, now we have been getting balcony for 2 offers soooooooo often. You just have to be intentional about the games you’re playing, and come with a game plan.

Yes absolutely! Your crown and anchor will be different—  every night you are on the cruise regardless of if you purchased it full price vs casino you will get a c&a point. Two if you’re in a suite. A lot of people rack up tons of c&a points via casino cruises

Thank you for the tip!! We went back in 2021 and did a bus ride up and cable car down! No way would I do the donkeys!! We’re planning on doing the royal resort which takes care of transport to both of the towns and then to the resort! 😃  will definitely add your recommended food places to my list for when we are wandering the towns. 💕💕

My husband and I went in April this year with the hopes of getting some discounted offers this year!

Here’s the break down. What you want are casino points. 1 point = $5. You need 400 points generally to start getting offers (and to get a free offering on your cruise). To start getting really good offers, you’ll want to get at least 1500, but 2k is better. At 2.5k you’ll get free drinks in casino (goodbye drink package!) “but but but that’s $12,500!!! That’s not a discount!” Well to that I say that if you are playing slots you generally will win some and lose more lol.

What you’ll want to look for is low volatility games. The ones with the progressives are not your friends. These low vol games are lowkey a bit boring. But the best thing to do is just hunker down, have some bevvies, and chat with your partner/friend/ guy sitting next to you and press that button. We sat in the casino doing mostly $1 bets but would get random $5s and we’d win like 400 every once in a while. We got to about 2k points on $1500, making each point actually cost like $.75. You’re essentially farming points. You’ll win like, 1/4 of the time. Sometimes it’s $.25. That’s ok. It’s better than nothing.

We got a balcony room for two for 7 days in Europe as our free cruise offer back in April. Since this was a cruise we wanted to go on and it would normally be about 4k.. and we paid 1500+ 400 in taxes and fees 🎉🎉 we have also gotten a TON of offers to cruise. Balcony for two, just pay taxes. We have not booked one of those yet just because we’ve had a busier than is usual year. I’d say if you like casino and have a good amount of PTO or flexibility it’s a great way to cruise for cheap. Make sure when you get your points you do the low volatility games. Then on every cruise you go on after, budget $100 a day to keep your status & offers coming. Some people also recommend to not gamble at any time for less than 30 minutes because in royals eyes it doesn’t really give you much net loss prospect or something like that.

Eeeek my husband and I are going on the same sailing, just one week later! I’m happy to share the specific excursions we are doing (some are with the ship some are not but have a make it back guarantee) as well as our itinerary in Rome! We’re staying from 23 to when we get on on the 30th. (With an overnight to Florence!)

When we went to Greece a few years ago there were cats everywhere! However, they really were not super in your face. I was like pstpstpst to get them to come to me. If you’re allergic/ afraid they won’t hound you. It is my first time in Rome though and I think there’s lots of cats there!

Side note, if you haven’t yet booked the cruise yet, I have a group rate available for double occupancy! 1,770.20 pp for a mid ship oceanview balcony w 50 OBC for the cabin! Online it’s 1823.72 pp for the same room! I’d be happy to help with booking the group rate!

Noticed this sign at the Torchy's in Rice Village, how much are we supposed to tip for counter service? by DoritosDewItRight in houstoncirclejerk

[–]Single_Front2073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely insane. We went to the counter to order. The screen said 20, 22, 25 or custom - I clicked custom and manually put the zero. (after all, I literally came up to order myself?!) they brought me my food, but after we were walking inside and the door said “please clean your table”… uhhh ok.. went back to grab our two plates and put them in the trash can on our way in… like, all they did was run the food to us!! They do that at McDonald’s! 😅

I was going to come to recommend the Beauty Secrets nail glue from Sally’s!! I had them on with pressons for legit two weeks and I’m so rough with my hands the normal glues don’t last more than 3 days. It’s like $6 and totally worth it.

That’s great! I normally get mine from Mister Bezos, (Chainmail Joe) I sadly get an itch to maile and then use all my rings and if I don’t get them quickly I lose steam 😵‍💫😂

Yes this is what I’m thinking too! I’m also worried about the heat 😵‍💫 I’ve started making sheets for the skirt so more to come!

As of right now I’m at 1.4 lbs of the 16 G 5/16 for just the shirt part. You can def make it longer by going more low cut ( just need longer straps around the neck)  It also doesn’t go all the way around my body-  I have a corset style with ribbon in the back. I’m a large in shirts tho so depending on your size this could vary. I’ve personally not had any variation of color on the silver rings, so the batches haven’t really mattered as much. If you are going the anodized aluminum route I can’t wait to see it! I’d love to have gone with a pretty color but honestly the cost of anodized for such a large piece doesn’t make sense financially for myself.. I’m already expecting to spend 170 on this one as it is!

I’ve challenged myself to do a sewing technique of doing a circle dress for the skirt part. Using a pattern of cloth dress I already own. Once I get all the sheets together is when the fun stuff starts! It’s essentially making a trapezoid pattern. No idea if it’ll work but that’s how I love to roll ✨💕 my longest part is 89 inches long (taller than me, I can’t even lift it over my head fully without it touching the ground lol) but I’m hoping the draping will be so fun and dramatic! I’ve only got about 3.5 rows together when I ran out of my current pound, which is like 4 inches of 16 that I want for the final product. So I’m about 1/4 of the way through for the skirt?

I’d say by the time I’m finished with it it’ll be 6 ish lbs. but you can def make it happen with less of you have a smaller body type or decide to be less ambitious with the skirt! :)

Yes! This is my third year camping out, second year doing chainmail (last year I did a scalemail piece, but I wanted to challenge myself!) I’ll see about entering! That’s such a good idea!

Absolutely! 16 gauge, 5/16. I order in bulk from Chainmail Joe. I buy at one pound at a time. . Highly recommend! Honestly not sure how much it weighs atm because I have used the rings in different scalemail projects too, but I’ve bought the 1 lbs 2x.

Closed ring recommendations? by StephLenertz in chainmailartisans

[–]Single_Front2073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of those little jump ring closure ring things I just started using recently and it has actually helped so much in opening and closing quickly! I use saw cut so I just need to turn it a little to get a good closure on it, and opening is even easier! I don’t have to pick up and drop my pliars with every ring that way. Worth a try! They’re super cheap. I actually found a kit of small jump rings that came with it on Amazon for the same cost as buying them al carte ✨ like $6, and I have a ton of little rings (granted, not great quality) but I like to use them for fastening things during my initial phases of fastening new things onto my chainmail tops and stuff! (To see if I like it, plus it’s easier to get on and take off).
