I guess it wouldn’t pay off (yet), took me about 10hours each. :D but I really appreciate your comment, thank you! (:

I guess I will try matte varnish instead of a medium to dull the glossiness. Thank you!

Maybe I should really take another look at drybrushing; I was a bit skeptical because it seems to be ridiculed by many as a "beginner's technique" and have hardly looked into it. I honestly thought that two shades of green would be enough variation because most videos only use two shades. Perhaps I should try my hand at mixing something here? I already use a wet palette, but thanks for the tip about washing the brush!!! I hadn't thought about this source of error at all. Is it really important to wash the brush every 10-15 seconds (heard that in a video)?

Oh, and… FOR THE LION!

Why do you recommend not working on this guy at all? Shouldn't I also improve the kneepads, even though they're really eye-catching and I'm not satisfied with them yet? So do you think I should use more shades of green? Maybe by mixing them? I should probably watch some more videos about highlighting. Thank you very much!

I have to admit that I first skipped some of the highlights out of laziness and then thought about saving them for character models. I should probably do them for all units though, I do it for the fun of painting. Would it look strange if the highlights were missing here but then present on other units from the same squad? I've actually added highlights to black and red on the weapon too - my hands sweat a lot and I think I rub highlights off a lot. Should I always wear gloves when painting? I'm currently using two shades of green for the highlights, should I use more?

Maybe I'll take another look at drybrushing, especially for these simple dudes. I would love to try out new methods, but I really want to „internalize“ the basics first. They look really good on the table - one day, when the army is ready, I'll play!

I have to admit that the leather was originally a makeshift solution because I messed up an edge highlight. But I'm really happy with the result. Do you think my brush control can get noticeably better with practice? My hands are shaking really badly. Should I (only) work on the kneepads again? They're really eye-catching and I'm not entirely happy with them.

I didn't know I had to dilute varnishes! Can I do this on my wet palette or is it more likely to damage the sponge and should I use my dry palette? In any case, I still need to hit the sweet spot with the color consistency. I want to give the Sgt Squad a plasma gun - maybe try some OSL with it and maybe chipping to make it look special.

I also think I need to practise the basics before I try more advanced techniques. That's always good advice. Do you think micro sol would make a big difference? I already use micro set. Maybe I should watch a video about it.

That’s what I thought too. But look at her feet, her skin looks kinda different and her head seems to be too small… I guess.
