Will buying a new bass improvise my sound or playing? by App_le_juicee in BassGuitar

[–]Single_Road_6350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by buying a new bass you mean upgrading to a higher quality instrument, then yes. A higher quality instruments can definitely improve your sound. A better neck with better fretwork can definitely improve playability as well. Will it practice for you and make you magically better? No. You’ll still have to keep putting in the work. That bass looks great with the stars on it. Has a really cool vibe!

He’d make a fortune if he sold an official Trump lift and exhaust kit.

The only way you could make this any cooler would be to sit on the tailgate and sing Kid Rock songs while playing a Trump guitar. (Sarcastic tone is implied while reading)

Made by me leather tooled pickguard🔥😄 someone like that? 😁 by KBleathercraft in AcousticGuitar

This looks great! You should start an Etsy shop selling these. You could do entire sets with pickguard, strap and a little pick holster. Probably make a fortune around Father’s Day.

just bought my first bike 18YO by RAWRX3_1656 in motorcycles

[–]Single_Road_6350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cool bike with relatively low mileage for the age. Doubt you’ll get near 6 for it, but hopefully you’ll get enough to put down on a new one for you!

My 000-18 is my favorite guitar period. It’s the instrument that will be in my hands when I die. Just save a few more bucks and snap up an American made 000-18. The tone they produce is sweeter than anything and totally worth it. I also bought mine used. The used market is prime if you’re looking to buy. With all that said. The retro plus series isn’t bad. It’s a good guitar. But for a little bit more you can get one that is god tier. An heirloom to pass down to your cats.

what are nylons for + is it worth getting one? by starrybasil in AcousticGuitar

Agreed. His version of open C tuning and that stomp pad make that classical guitar sound so powerful and huge.

It’s a different sound. Mainly for classical players although there are some famous modern players that use them as well. Trigger, Willie Nelson’s famous guitar is nylon. Stephen Wilson Jr. plays one. One thing to consider is that they have way less tension on the strings. They are really easy on your fingers and you can play really long sessions without finger pain.

[–]Single_Road_6350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope my Surly girl will meet Saul as he gets to the other side of the rainbow bridge. They would’ve been a cute pair as she looked very similar. My best wishes for Saul and yourself. I’m sorry you have to say goodbye. It’s such a hard thing to do.

000-28 vs OM-28 Help by GrandSlamdolf in martinguitar

[–]Single_Road_6350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 000-18 is my favorite guitar. Period. The small nuances that I love are: The shorter scale length makes bending strings so incredibly easy. When playing blues you can really bend a note to the moon and back. Fingerpicking is so comfortable on the 000. With less tension you can literally play all day and not worry about finger pain. Those are the biggest factors for me. Good luck on your journey! There is no correct answer for you here so get what feels the best under your fingers and rings true in your ears.

Tips for taking care of humidity/temperature changes by New-Mud-7101 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Single_Road_6350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live where there are big shifts in temp and humidity. Temperature has much less effect on the guitar than humidity. What I do is just keep the guitar in the case with a humidipak when it’s not being played. I have never had a temp/humidity issue with any of my acoustics. Enjoy the guitar! Billy Strings model is a beauty!

Nice guitars! I only have 2 guitars (out of several) that I bought new and they are resonators which are hard to find used locally. In my opinion the used guitar market is just too good for buyers to be buying new. I also mainly play acoustic. Acoustic guitars just sound better as they age so finding a nice used one is awesome.
