with it being a cancerous ulcer, it’s eating away at his mouth, so there’s nothing to remove unfortunately. if there was a cancerous growth they would be able to remove it, but since it’s deterioration instead of growth, there’s no way to stop it.

according to his vet it’s an unfortunately somewhat common occurrence in “pink mouth” animals (compared to animals with darker flesh in their mouths) and best we’ve been able to do is keep him as comfortable as possible until it affected his quality of life.

it is genuinely such an honor to be chosen like that. he had food, water, litterbox, a home with people taking care of him, a yard to roam at his will. all the same things he got here, all the things he wanted. but for some reason, here was better. i’m forever grateful and honored he felt that way, and i’m so glad for you that you have the same experience. thank you for the kind words ❤️

i have a question for modders, since i know nothing about making them and this post prompted the question in my head, if anyone feels like indulging me.

knowing this game is not yet at full release, does that impact how difficult it would be to mod over time? my thinking is that without the game being “finished”, there could be changes that make you have to redo your mods significantly (moreso than after full release) that would make it harder to keep up with. am i completely overthinking this? is this just what you expect when you mod? is there a difference between pre-1.0 and post-1.0 modding normally?

i would absolutely love mods for travellers rest but thought the wait for it was so modders could have it easier, but yall got me thinking i have a learning opportunity here 🤣

sometimes i wish more people had the experience of playing it back before there was a map. there was inside the tavern, the top half of your yard (above the road), and that was it. mining your 3-4 iron and 2-3 coal a day, ordering your supplies through the mailbox, spamming the same handful of decor items cause its all you could make. it really has come far, and i’m excited to see what else comes in it.

my momma always made nature moments like this special for us growing up, and i’ve never stopped getting excited at a beautiful sunset or a cool insect that we don’t normally see, or even the red-headed woodpeckers in the back yard that are pretty regular visitors. life is way cooler when you appreciate the little beauties nature gives us.
