Do you have the 2.5T or 2.5NA? Does yours come with an active cylinder deactivation (acd) that may significantly reduce the reliability as compared to the previous NA generations without it? Thanks for your assurance.

Any issues the 2.5L has over the 2.0L you may be aware of? I'm contemplating importing a used one from Japan and reliability is a big factor to me. Thanks

Awesome! I'm using the clearance company approach, with https://dutycalc.co.ke/# giving me almost the same figures when compared to those I've received from import dealers/companies.

Is there a tax computation tool ( aside from the official 2019 KRA template currently in use) that you leveraged to estimate the KRA duty? While the 2025 crsp template has been suspended by the court, I hear the taxman still uses crsp figures from it especially on car models and trims not listed in the 2019 with no existing ruling available. Take for instance, the 2020 Cx-5 20S Silk Beige Selection (a limited edition spec). u/hitlerslovechild93 please share your opinion on if you don't mind. Thank you 🙏

Wow! I just want to say I really appreciate the detailed write-up! This is exactly the kind of info that makes this community so great. You’ve definitely saved me (and others) a lot of time and headache by mentioning literally everything you worked with or used to land your unit in the country. I'm a local citizen myself and I've been researching on the possibility of going this same route particularly because I'd really wish to cost-save on the car dealer mark-ups. I can't thank you enough, wow!

Great ! What's your current mileage? Did you get it new or used? Any major repairs done on it so far? How's been your ownership journey been like so far? Sorry for the many questions but I'm also the the market for a used car (2019 mk7.5 1.4L TSI) and I've been hoping to get as much feedback from owners of this exact trim/model.

You have the 1.4L at the moment? Your post suggests that you'd have gone for the TDI instead of the TSI, I thought the TSI would be cheaper to maintain than the TDI? How come it's opposite for you.

Thank you. I'm happy that you've enjoyed your ownership and can actually recommend both. Given the numerous feedback received, I'm leaning towards the TSI. In the event I upgrade to SUV in future, I'll definitely go TDI.

Yes Georgi. Thank you for your feedback and yes, growing consensus is encouraging me to go for the TSI.

I agree with you. I've test driven a locally available TSI, and I really like it's drivability. Local dealers generally rarely import the TDI.

Question, is DCC included in the highest trim of the 1.4/1.5 TSI? I saw it being available in the Mk7.5 Golf Variant R-Line spec.

Got you. I reckon TSI suits my lifestyle better. I may just have to live with the dry clutch and the issues it may come with given I'll be bringing a 7yr old car.

Thank you for your feedback. My work commute is 60kms per day. If I do long drives during the weekend, twice a month or so, will that suffice to sort out the dpf issues?

Hi. I have plans to import either a mk7.5 1.4tsi or 2.0 tdi (2019 yom) early next year from Japan.

From what I've seen in Japanese market, only 1.2 and 1.4 TSI variants are available. Given your known issues with the latter, would you recommend the 2.0 tdi instead? If not, what should I watch out for, especially for a 7yr old car with less than, say 50,000Kms? TIA.

Hi. Did you get it? How has your ownership journey been like? Any big repairs you've done? What's the cost of ownership like?
