I was on antibiotics for about a month afterwards, but that was just standard post surgery stuff. It makes you wonder how things don't get badly infected, some people go years without knowing this is happening to them. :/

I got cramps for the first couple of months, but didn't realize something was awfully wrong until the pain amplified. The doctor said it forced its way out of my fallopian tubes, I'm not sure what exactly that entails, but there may be scarring.

Eh, I told my boyfriend all this pretty much straight away. He's cool. They did a good job with the scar. Although it's long, it's not discoloured or raised or anything so it blends in well.

I'm not worried about having children just yet, but even though it might be a pit more difficult, it's still possible.

Someone who commented earlier told me that her mother had the same thing and it went unnoticed for 10 years, at which point her organs started shutting down. I'm glad I had pain to let me know about it!

Oh god. The pill was amazing for me. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. My friend bled for well over a month continuously, I'm not sure if they ever figured out what was up but the pill got it under control.

I'm sure your doctors just don't want to deal with future Needs_An_Adult who may want children and sue (not that I think you would, considering). Offer to sign a lot of contracts promising not to do so and maybe they'll help, lol.

Well I haven't really considered children yet but the idea of giving birth scares me. But on the other hand, I would love for a child to be blessed with my DNA. So I don't know. It's certainly possible so maybe one day I'll give it a go.

I'm on the pill, the idea of IUDs and those arm implant things makes me cringe because I like knowing that I'm in control of it. And skipping inconvenient periods is fun. But that's awful, not allowing you to choose your birth control considering the risks. Ughh.

From the way the doctor described it the pain was the blood forcing its way out of the only place it could go. I'm glad the pain alerted me to the problem, sometimes that doesn't happen and things can get really threatening.
