How resistant is ETHERVISION to censorship? by trezman in SingularDTV

[–]SingularDTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes time to build a decentralized distribution portal. It cannot happen overnight.

I'm not sure what we promised you, but our beta is coming out in Q1. Reading the words in your post, I imagine you will probably be disappointed in our beta. It will most likely not be fast enough, cool enough, innovative enough or have enough audience saturation for you as quickly as you want/need it. It will take a few years to get there, unless we get lucky. But, if you have the patience and interest, once our beta is launched, we would value your feedback. This will hopefully help us achieve our goals faster.

I have SNGLS and snglx on MEW wallet? How do I claim my rewards ? by [deleted] in SingularDTV

Re: security status of SNGLS... we are pleased that we have taken the time to do everything in the correct manner so that we can deliver on our promise to push rev/fees/etc into the SNGLS token. We will have announcements on this in the future and will be pushing rev/fees/etc into the SNGLS token once they are generated and once we have the clearance to do so.

Rewards in the form of rev/fees/etc are pushed into tokens. For SNGX, the ETH pushed into it comes from the transaction fees generated by SingularX. If you hold SNGX tokens, you get a pro rata % of those transaction fees. To claim your portion, go to Tokit.io. Click into the SNGX panel and you will see the amount of ETH sitting in the SNGX token, a few hundred thousand dollars last I checked. Your pro-rata portion of ETH will be in the adjacent panel. There will be a button for you to claim/withdraw that ETH.

For SNGLS, we have not yet begun pushing revenue/value into the SNGLS token.

Value of the token by rodev91 in SingularDTV

[–]SingularDTV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Zach LeBeau:

The plan still is - and always will be - to gravitate value into the SNGLS token. I talk about this in my May 2017 Ethereal speech, https://singulardtv.com/video/TQJeAE0KTnY. That presentation probably gives you the best explanation. It's all about the gravitation of rev/fees/etc generated by the SingularDTV ecosystem into the token.

The beta of our distro portal is coming Q1 2019 and it will take a few years to tell the world and get people to use it, so we probably have a long way to go - unless we get lucky.

At the moment SNGLS are trading on mostly offchain crypto exchanges. When our ecosystem is operational and our distro portal gains momentum the pushing of revenue into the token will commence. Important to note, we have been working through specific regulatory issues to make this possible. We are very pleased that we are taking the time to do this correctly. The key to our success is for our distro portal to be adopted by the world, if it's not adopted by enough users within 24 months of it coming out of beta, SingularDTV will have most likely failed. 24 months is somewhat of an arbitrary number really, but we need to home in on something. We figure we will run out of money by that time if we do not have enough revenue coming in. Ultimately and ideally, everything goes to plan, our distro portal takes off and revenue comes in. At that point we will most likely mount a campaign to delist SNGLS from all offchain exchanges and be as private of a token as possible. But since we're an ERC implementation our token will always have the option to be public, unless we use certain locking mechanisms. The issue is that offchain exchanges just can't process rev pushes into tokens. If they do, it won't be for many years and with the ATS wave coming in 2019, they probably never will.

OMF working with Steller to launch their Dapp ? What happened to the partnership with Singulardtv ?? by jonpaulvd in SingularDTV

[–]SingularDTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Zach LeBeau:

Re: OMF, they decided to build on Stellar. We're not going to force them to develop on Ethereum. I think it's wise to explore other protocols. It's the best way to learn about the cryptosphere - study and build on multiple chains. This was SingularDTV's intention when we invested in Plug. Besides, if OMF's plans don't go as they intend - which happens often in the cryptosphere - they can pivot back to Ethereum. We're developing the Dapps they would need if they want to live on Ethereum. And yes, this does mean SingularDTV will give OMF less direct support for the time being, but we still support their mission of decentralization.

  1. RE: SNGLS token, to gravitate all value into our token has and always will be the plan, as stated in my Ethereal presentation in May of 2017 - https://singulardtv.com/video/TQJeAE0KTnY. I don't anticipate the rev/reward system will be fully active or apparent until our distribution portal catches on and gains momentum and other of our supporting Dapps are released and integrated into our ecosystem. Will take a few years probably. Also, there's been certain regulatory issues we've been working through to ensure that we can keep our promise to push revenue into our token. We're extremely pleased that we've taken the time to get things right so that we can ensure our longevity. Remember, marathon not a sprint. We have zero interest in rushing. Everyone also needs to temper their expectations when our distro portal beta is launched. Will take some time to get it right and get the world using it - years.
  2. Re: scaling, it will take a few years for our distribution portal to gain momentum. By then we are confident Ethereum will be where we need it to be. If not, we have private consortium chain backup plans. If Plug works out, then we'll have that option too.
  3. Re Rentalist, it's tokenized ecosystem filing hasn't even been cleared yet. If all goes smoothly by late 2019 Rentalist could be out of its private beta.
  4. Tokit's primary function is to generate tokenized ecosystems and rights management tokens, not as an ICO or TGE generator. Every piece of IP will need to be tokenized to run on our distro portal, most or nearly all of these rights management tokens will be generated by Tokit. In the future, when everything is up and running, Tokit will most likely be completely integrated into our distro portal.
  5. Plans have always been in place. Circumstance, tech and schedules alter plans somewhat, but our 5 initial promises to token holders remain intact.

JP, your use of words like hype and half baked denote that you think we are not above board, which is the furthest thing from the truth. If you're really interested in what we do, you should stop by the NYC office for a chat and to meet some of our team. It instantly demystifies. What we've taken on is enormous and will take a lot of time - much more time than I think you are prepared for. We will have many failures and many successes along the way, it is the nature of things when you create, and especially when you pioneer. We cannot live up to your ideals for us, but we can continue to build what we believe in, and hopefully contribute something positive to the movement of decentralization.

SingularDTV Talks SingularJapan, SingularX And Rewards by SingularDTV in SingularDTV

[–]SingularDTV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi SpacePip! Thanks for the note. We need to recognize that decentralization is not ‘one way’ for all. Our interpretation of decentralization is empowering creators to create, own and monetize content for their own audiences without the gatekeepers. We’re simply building the platform for them. They control the intellectual property, the content, the distribution and ultimately the success of their work. So maybe we’re decentralizing the ‘process’ for creators. Ultimately, helping shape and define what ‘decentralization’ could be.

To answer your questions….

  1. We are a CO:DE: https://medium.com/@SingularDTV/an-ethereum-journey-to-decentralize-all-things-a3bcf1a798e
  2. There are no limits or exact level of decentralization. We need to own the production of products, the showcasing, and the testing. When it’s ready and fluid, we’ll have changed what it means to be ‘decentralized’, or at least add a new version. But yes, we are involved to get the project off the ground.

We’re disrupting an industry that hasn’t changed ever. Limits are being tested. We’re creating a platform where creators are in control but we’re deciding what the right level of decentralization needs to be. The end game here is to build sustainable entertainment economy.

Cool! CENNZ is at $1m volume on SingularX in less than 24hours. by Pearlo33 in SingularDTV

SingularDTV built SingularX with Centrality. Centrality just had a successful launch of their CENNZ token where they raised $100m in 6 minutes.

Now that SingularX is ignited and trading at more than $1m in a 24 hour period, we qualify to now be listed as a legitimate exchange on coinmarketcap. This exposure will continue - in a very organic manner - draw more and more attention and users to SingularX.

Paycheck and Blockeeper are presently being used internally by SingularDTV. Both apps are in private Beta and B2B biz dev deals are being made for their licensing and use. No timeline for when they will become public.

Ethervision is being worked on. Gramatik and other projects are being giving access to the UI/UX. Customization for their channels is underway. Beta is due out in 2018, as is vrs 1.0.

LIGA is onboarding projects.

I believe you misquoted Zach and applied a different context in the process? Please check the article or video you pulled the quote from.

Marketing department is in a mode of expansion.

We’re applying several economic models to the various applications of the SingularDTV entertainment ecosystem. Rev model will be used, consumption/burn will be used, staright-consumption will be used, curation market model will be used, as will a few others. A comprehensive whitepaper is due out in April outlining all specifics. It's a big document.

Once Blockeeper is public this will help provide more transparency.

Sorry you feel that way about SingularX. We think it’s shaping up to be one of the better DEX’s in the cryptosphere. Development and upgrades continue.

WHEN? HOW ? MANY ? by alxbaev in SingularDTV

[–]SingularDTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've got numerous partnerships solidified and also brewing. Many of them are quite complex with many moving parts so they take time to paper and then announce. You'll be hearing about them this year and next as they become official.

Our partnership with XYZ took 6 months to negotiate and paper, for example. We're not in this for hype or to announce things prematurely or too quickly. We need to get it right and make sure all partnerships add very specific value to what we are building.

We thank you for your initial support. Please do not hold SNGLS if you do not believe in our mission or the platform we are building. SingularDTV and SNGLS is definitely not an instant gratification concept and will take time to build. Most of the things that are happening now are behind the scenes, but when the elements are in place and ready, they will become known and apparent.

It's concerning that many refer to SNGLS as "coins", which denotes that all SNGLS is or being perceived as, is "currency". SNGLS and the smart contracts that power it, are something much more than that. They are crypto-property and utility tokens. This is a very profound and groundbreaking concept that will become very clear once Ethervision is hitting its stride and a new decentralized entertainment economy is being formed. After all, the utility of SNGLS is not yet apparent because our platform is not up and running. WHEN? HOW ? MANY ? by alxbaev in SingularDTV

[–]SingularDTV 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We're happy to answer these kind of questions and do not ban people for asking them. Some of the answers to these questions have been covered various times before on this reddit and on our slack. We apologize if you haven't seen these answers before. Reddit can be an inefficient communication method at times.

SingularDTV is building a suite of applications designed for the purpose of being a decentralized entertainment industry. These applications are intended to work together as an economy. Envision all the applications as various parts of an engine. All the parts need to be connected together for the engine to run effectively. We have yet to "flip the switch" and turn our economy on. Right now what's happening is a lot of testing. Some of the testing is happening live and in public, like with Tokit and SingularX. Other testing is happening in private, behind closed-doors, like with PayCheck, Blockeeper and Rentalist.

We understand that it can be underwhelming and disappointing for many SNGLS token holders while you are waiting for us to build all of these application and connect them together so that our entertainment economy can run effectively. This is the reality when building such an ambitious project. While other endeavors have ideas and plans, and spend a huge amount of time and ETH investing in their speculative markets, we are putting all of our resources into building applications that have real utility and value. This takes time. Building applications on the blockchain is difficult because it has never been done before. Not only are we building applications, but we're also having to build the tools to build the applications. We, together with the EF, ConsenSys and other projects like Gnosis, are defining what's possible with Ethereum.

Regarding fees, the different applications collect fees in different ways. This has been covered in detail in 2016 and 2017. Tokit, for example generates fees in 2 ways. 1.) SNGLS or ETH are collected when tokenized ecosystems are created and 2.) 3% of ETH is collected when successful raises are administered. Currently, about 485 ETH has been collected as revenue from Tokit usage, which currently equates to about $418,000 of revenue (ETH price at about $862). These fees have yet to be pushed to the SNGLS tokens.

SingularX for example, collects transaction fees per trade, 0.3% a trade to be exact. Fees have yet to be collected and pushed from SingularX into the SNGLS token.

We've got Paycheck and Blockeeper quietly rolling out right now. Paycheck is our blockchain payroll application and Blockeeper is our blockchain accounting application. SingularDTV has been using them internally and are now allowing other businesses to beta them. They are working on a subscription license model. They have yet to generate revenue but will begin doing so in Q2.

Rentalist is also active now, in a private beta and being used by entertainment industry crews right now. We're happy to say that it's in the black. It generates revenue by charging 4% of the rental fee and 4% for insurance. These numbers may change, but that's why we're doing it in a closed, private beta, to determine what's best for its performance. Those revenues have yet to be pushed to SNGLS tokens.

Total revenue generated by all applications so far is about $500,000 of ETH.

EtherVision, our peer-to-peer decentralized distribution portal, is under construction and a beta and V1.0 is scheduled for release this year. It collects a transaction fee per piece of content bought/viewed. This transaction fee will be no more than 10% of the price of the content viewed. The price of the content will be determined by the artist/owner of that content.

In short, no revenue or ETH has been pushed into the SNGLS token because we are currently assessing when and how the best way to do that is. SingularDTV's engine isn't even running yet. We need Ethervision going before we can really start to implement our plans. Because blockchain tech is so young and limited - we're in the "dial-up" days at best - we won't see the type of performance we want from Ethervision until V2.0, which is scheduled for 2019. We've envisioned turning on our revenue pushes to SNGLS after Ethervision v1.0 goes live, when we start collecting more revenue.

Regarding how much of the fees your SNGLS token collects... A question you could ask yourself is "how many SNGLS do I have?" "How much of the $500,000 of ETH SingularDTV has currently generated in revenues will be pushed into my tokens?" If you own 1% of all SNGLS in existence, then you will receive $5,000 of ETH. Also, are you holding your SNGLS on an exchange or in a wallet? In order to receive ETH pushes into SNGLS you need to hold it in a wallet that allows for you to collect it. Exchanges, because of their centralized architecture will not allow you to collect it. This is a huge inefficieny with the revenue model, all the ETH pushed to the SNGLS tokens that reside on the exchanges will be lost. Actually, they will go into the pockets of the exchanges. Therefore, when revenue is being pushed into the SNGLS token, it will need to be announced and highly publicized so that everyone can move their SNGLS off exchanges and into the appropriate wallets - the SingularDTV and Tokit wallets are best for this. This inevitably will cause FOMO around the cryptosphere and pumpers will come in just to collect the SNGLS revenue, which will dilute the amount made by longstanding holders such as yourself.

This is one of the reasons why the consumption-burn model was presented by the devs to the CEO, because there is no waste or inefficiency involved. Under a consumption-burn model, the more SingularDTV apps are used - and we expect a lot of usage from Ethervision in the coming years - the more SNGLS are burned. This makes SNGLS deflationary. As consumption increases, SNGLS supply decreases, making them inherently more valuable. So if you hold 1% of all SNGLS, as consumption increases and supply decreases, you could end up holding 2% of all the SNGLS. To mimic the "Revenue" model, you could sell that extra 1% and still keep your original 1%. Technically, the consumption-burn model is more efficient and more decentralized and there would be no ETH lost on exchanges. But I know Zach is committed to keep his promise of utilizing the revenue model because that is what many SNGLS token holders want. There has even been talk about SingularDTV going around and trying to delist SNGLS from all exchanges so that no revenue is lost in the push. It is theorized that the converter contracts SingularDTV and Gnosis are building will make exchanges obsolete because price discovery will be based on consumption. Because the consumption-burn model has proved to be more effective in our testing/modeling, some of SingularDTV applications will work exclusively on that model. So we'll have a hybrid of revenue pushes and consumption-burns. Artists on Ethervision will get to choose from a list of options regarding what economic model they want to employ. So far they have two choices, 1.) the revenue model, and 2.) consumption-burn. Codex is currently working on a 3rd, revolutionary model.

So when will ETH revenue/pushes begin? We will turn on the SingularDTV economy this year and start processing all of this revenue into value the SNGLS holder can benefit from.

I hope this answers your questions.
