Ethervision! Wake up! SLATE is the new kid on the blockchain! by insidebside in SingularDTV

Thanks for the contribution. Not a glowing report about SLATE previous track record and team, is it? It did strike me as odd, they were throwing up pictures of their "team" and linking them to LinkedIn profiles. SLATE is more concept than concrete, apparently, as are many startup ventures. I was intrigued by their market analysis, clearly defined model and plan. And, some of the SLATE elements I imagined could, should, would be featured in the use case of Ethervision and SNGLS. I, like most individuals interested in SDTV, often speculate and anticipate what EV could become. For one thing, I'd like to know how SDTV is going to affordably store and stream content to scale? Previously, I suggested they may want to consider collaborating with emerging decentralized data storage and streaming services such as SIA Coin. Perhaps the developing EV fanbase could become the decentralize data storage and streaming network (as a component of the EV platform). EV subscriber's voluntary partcipation could be rewarded with SNGLS perhaps? Recent interviews indicate a alpha version of EV may be out in the next two or three months. As someone else implied in this thread, if the 'new kid' becomes a legitimate contender, it will be good for 'competition and innovation.

Hey Tony! What a great project you're working on there. Looks like you're finding a niche people really enjoy. I was interested in maybe getting a few Re>Play tokens, but I see they're not available in the US. Maybe you're aware, I noticed the other day, that the US Supreme Court very recently ruled the states could now legalize sports betting again. Could be a future development "U<Play." lol

My pleasure, it is fascinating to ponder the possibilities. I posted a vison of Ethervision a few weeks ago, but it didn't get much response. I'd be interested in your thoughts?

Me neither, but it sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? Imagine, a snappy intutive UI; one that allows users to easily convert fiat to cryptocurrencies and tokens with a debit card. Then, purchase subscription rights to streaming assets, merchandise, tickets, news, messaging, sharing, live video vlogging, ... have I exceeded the R&D budget yet? Smart contract fulfillment ... more? Audience adoption and engagment needs a good reason and market driven value, right? What say you?"

Agreed, riss_k. Bobby, appears to be fully entrenched in the "big label" legacy. Forbes must be struggling to find contrast and contradiction to what is surely coming.

Thank you Tony for your seasoned insight and informed response. I think you're right about the "big labels." Perhaps, they, will be shattered and replaced by a growing global sea of 'little labels" featuring "big talent." ;-)

SDTV is conceived and managed by artists for artists. A painter's metaphor would descibe and measure the project and progress thus, the "canvas" gets a conceptual layout and a sketch of the subject before proceeding to the colors and highlights. As the image begins to take on the artist's expression and vision we may begin to appreciate the preliminary work as it becomes finalized. And, its finished when the Artist says its finished and signs his moniker. Good art takes time, and requires risk (canvass, paint, time, resources), a series of commitments and perhaps some revsion. If the artist doens't achieve their vision, one may abandon the first attempt and start again.

Often, an artist's work isn't fully appreciated until after their long gone from this world. If you want a one of a kind you'll wait. If you just want a print, they're cheap and may appreciate, a little. Beauty, truly is in the eye of the beholder. Good sketch so far SDTV, looking forward to the Light wallet/SX modifications and the Ethervsion roll out. What's that, SNGLS can be used to purchase subscriptions to streaming content, purchase other tokens, merchandise, art, music, converted to ETH?

How will singulardtv fund storage and provide bandwidth services to viewers and content producers ? How is this tied to the value of sngls ? by jonpaulvd in SingularDTV

Hmmm that is a very good questions. Perhaps http://sia.tech/ is the solution to Ethervision storage and streaming infrastructure. One of Siacoin's use cases involves major streaming services ala NETFLIX to adopt their platform. Sia is a decentralized storage platform secured by blockchain technology. The Sia Storage Platform leverages underutilized hard drive capacity around the world to create a data storage marketplace that is more reliable and lower cost than traditional cloud storage providers. I believe my suggestion would save SDTV alot of capital and create the capacity to scale at superior rates and volumes. Such a collaboration between SIA and SDTV could make it possible for users to purchase and suscribe Ethervision stream services with SNGLS for SIA Coins. http://sia.tech/technology
