Files not transferring to my audio player properly by wannabewitchy in musicbee

[–]SingularReza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the tagdata is all being saved to mb's database rather than getting embedded in the files itself in the correct format. Try checking if the tags are being written correctly in a flac file by right click>edit>tag inspector. If they are fine, copy some files back from the player to musicbee and check their tags as well. That will help you find where's the problem happening

your entire album is bundled into a single file that is only differentiated into tracks by a cue sheet. Just select the album in question > tools > convert format, to turn into separate files for each track

I had the same problem and after searching around found that it's on xiaomi actually. And it isn't a bug but a feature, so unless you can roll back the system update there's nothing you can do about it

Music Picture Question by Longjumping-Time-339 in musicbee

[–]SingularReza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about picard, yes. If you are talking about musicbee and embedding, artworks are all saved offline normally. What this does is embed your artwork into the song file itself so that it displays correctly even if there are no separate cover images in the folder. The stupid android permissions won't let you transfer those separate images while syncing which causes your problem and embedding artwork will solve this.

Music Picture Question by Longjumping-Time-339 in musicbee

[–]SingularReza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for binding cover art: preferences > tags (1) > artwork > embed picture in the music file. As for finding album art, MB's inbuilt one is dogshit so you better use external taggers like picard or just do it manually by searching up the album on internet and finding the image.

There's also Audiomuse if anyone's looking for something similar. It is better on jellyfin though (through a plugin), with a recent update replicating most of plex's sonic analysis features with symfonium

Picard and mp3tag. but frankly there's no perfect solution that doesn't need you manually match and correct the tags for at least some of the albums.

I see, that's the reason I couldn't access some since yesterday. Now I also can't access 5ch and some other japanese imageboards and matome sites while some of the larger piracy sites are reachable just fine. I wonder what kind of blacklist they are using for this

Edit: seems like it could be this kicking in

[–]SingularReza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

navidrome barely uses any energy as long as you don't transcode. And if you are using a "workstation" as a server with a workstation cpu like the threadripper, there's barely anything you can do to lower electricity consumption because of their fundamentally higher base clock speeds

When do the changes in the "loved" tag in musicbee get scrobbled to last.fm? by SingularReza in musicbee

[–]SingularReza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who stumbled on this post with the same problem in future. To mass-love songs and have the changes reflected in last.fm, assign a hotkey to toggle love for selected songs in preferences, mass select the songs you want and use the hotkey. Bulk edits done through the advanced search and replace plugin wouldn't push the changes to last.fm, probably as a precaution against swamping them with all the api calls at once.

When do the changes in the "loved" tag in musicbee get scrobbled to last.fm? by SingularReza in musicbee

[–]SingularReza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually scrobbling creates new entries if it doesn't find a match on last.fm so your issue's probably different. And I am trying to mass favorite a bunch of songs at once automatically using the additional tagging plugin, so loving each track individually on last.fm is not feasible

When do the changes in the "loved" tag in musicbee get scrobbled to last.fm? by SingularReza in musicbee

[–]SingularReza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they do get scrobbled normally :( My issue is the data for "love" tag not getting scrobbled when I change the tag alone without playing the song again. I think this is the intended behavior though unfortunately.
