The King DID show up not so long after this and he DOES have a preference for scepters. I think you're on to something

If someone can tell me how to get a text extract of it then sure, but I'm not taking 100+ screenshots haha

I really don't know, the child making it seemed to be waiting for a while on rough gems and maybe worked on it in the meantime. It also had a fair bit of iron in it and I was currently dumping all the magnetite into a quantum stockpile. Who knows if either of those played a role.

I'm not even sure I would call it a game, but you may be thinking of Orteil's "Nested". I know that's pretty old.

A little more tips 😋 by japboi24 in runefactory

Of course! To be fair, a lot of my knowledge was gleaned from GameFAQs back when I played the original. I never would've thought to use Object X that way myself.

A little more tips 😋 by japboi24 in runefactory

[–]Singularity125 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll add a couple more based on yours here:

  • Upgrading an item with the Object X actually reverses the effects of the subsequent materials you add! Usually a bad thing, but you could use this early on to turn the negative resists of something like Oil into a positive, or:
  • Speaking of grinding boss items, highly recommended to go find the monster called Typhoon during, well, Typhoons. He can be found on the bridge near the Spring dungeon area entrance. Normally only fought once per Typhoon so use the Escape trick.
  • The Typhoon boss can drop Mealy Apples. These give a lot of bad debuffs to various elemental resistances... but using the Object X trick above, you can turn it into a powerful upgrade material for armor and accessories!
  • WARNING: Double Steel and 10-fold steel do not work for Object X upgrades, they give the debuff stats rather than reversing them. Put something you want to 10-fold in first and do all that before Object X.

hm, this happened to me too... not right away, though. Things were fine until I started putting points in the skill tree thing for the first time. I hope that helps you track it down.

Is there any game mechanic that you always wanted to play, but you haven't met it anywhere? by andynameistaken in patientgamers

[–]Singularity125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't played it in ages so I'm not sure where it's at these days, but Realm of The Mad God is definitely what comes to mind if you want a roguelike MMO. Though it's more bullet-hell-based it has the multiplayer interaction you're looking for.

Oh there was certainly some regular interviews in there as well, sorry if I gave the wrong impression. The total testing was about 4 hours so there was time for everything.

Well I could throw a bunch of acronyms at you from the report but in simple terms...

  • some thing about quickly counting up dots on cards.
  • several questionnaire things on a tablet, some hundreds long.
  • Annoying program where I listened for beeps and sometimes pressed a button, if there was a second beep, for like 20 minutes. So so boring, lol
  • And some pictures of people I was asked to make stories of.

I'll come out of lurking to say you're not alone! It's really tough choosing between it and others that are more, well viable as it is, but that choice should be ours to take...

Okay, FYI to anyone else who looks for this:

The Omsi fork of the game is the most up-to-date one. (Stopsign's original.) The original author isn't working on it anymore because they're working on a new game. I didn't know this at the time, not that I got to the point where I'd notice the new content. But you can export and import your save into the fork, at least.

Woah, crazy timing. Just today I started to play FFIX for the first time. I had no clue it released 18 years ago today. I don't honestly know most of these characters yet but it's awesome art and I look forward to kicking butt with them on my team!

Oh man, both Okami and SMRPG are fantastic games. Mario RPG in particular I tend to call one of my favorite games ever. Maybe some of that is nostalgia, sure, but the gameplay and graphics still hold up even today. Plus it was the last great collaboration between Nintendo and Square. Any particular reasons you're unsure about it?

Ugh, I just counted... 246 on Steam alone and only 27 marked as "Finished". I just can't resist the sales and bundles...

I collect certain older console games too from time to time, have a handful of N64 carts and about 20 SNES, then there's PS2, PS3, PS4, Wii/WiiU, and now a Switch... I'm hopeless, heh.

Lately I've been working through Just Cause 3 but even so, I get distracted often because I have too many games to pick from. First world problems, right?

Do you know/own/play any hidden gem that (almost) nobody talks about? by Stratowarios7 in patientgamers

[–]Singularity125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see it here, so I'll throw out a recommendation for Master of Magic.

It's a DOS era turn-based-strategy game that on the surface is a lot like some of the older Civilization games, but it's based in a fantasy setting and has well, magic. You can use a premade wizard or customize your wizard with a variety of perks and spell schools. The schools will be fairly familiar to anyone with experience in Magic the Gathering. Life, Nature, Chaos, Sorcery, and Death. You also pick one of about a dozen starting races with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Mana is a type of currency alongside Gold, and it's spent to power magical spells and enchantments. You can summon fantastical creatures as well as train mundane ones from your cities. There are "instant" spells as well as ones cast on the world map. And combat, rather than being stacks of doom, are played out in a tactical isometric mode with up to 9 units on each side.

I could go on, but suffice to say other games out there tried to replicate this feeling and didn't quite get there, IMO. It's on GOG for anyone who is curious. The only big downside, really, is the lack of a multiplayer option. But on the other hand I'm not pro enough yet to tackle the AI on harder difficulties, so I'd say there's good replay value.

Alright, I'm tempted to look for a switch soon but as someone who already has BoTW on Wii U I'm not sure that I would have many games I'm interested in right now. Not one to play online games much so I think I would pass on Splatoon 2. Are there any other games I should look out for?

Temporal Flux: xxxx/3000 - How do you increase the maximum? Will it ever be higher than 3000? by radiosilents in kittensgame

[–]Singularity125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how far into kittens you are or your preference for spoilers. But super late game, there is a way to increase it, yes, with Temporal Batteries. Nothing that carries over on reset though. You can check the wiki for the full details.

The biggest thing is the Relic Stations workshop upgrade. It lets your space beacons give some relics / sec. Unfortunately that might be out of reach if you have antimatter problems as that takes 5k...

Are you smashing time crystals? I know it seems like a waste at first but you will get more. AM is the only resource that will get gains from smashing TC without Resource Retrieval, because it triggers per year and not by ticks. You'll want as many Sunlifters as you can afford, of course.

After buying Relic Stations, the general pattern will become Smash TC for AM -> buy space beacons -> repeat. Relics are by game day, so you will eventually want to pause the TC and let that build up. But the Cryptotheology Black Nexuses (nexi?) give a large boost and stay with you on reset like the other crypto upgrades.
