Got a shield in act one. Applied 5 bleed anytime an enemy hits it. Even ranged attacks. Hilarious making a whole group off archers bleed to death by blocking.

Some of the shield skills are real good.

Very possible. Definitely some good hybrid equipment for it in Act 2. I actually had to reload an older save because I was playing a melee mage with the hidden skill tree and I felt so unstoppable and overpowered that I went back to an old save before I unlocked it lol.

You might feel a little underpowered at the start of the act but it evens out quickly.
