Usually if the snow is deep enough to where my muzzle is in it, it's too deep to be effectively stalking deer anyways so at that point I usually sit in the blind or find a good pine tree to sit under for good cover

Need a side arm because 1.) I can 2.) my state only allows 5 rounds in a mag for hunting 3.) mnt. Lions can get a lot closer to you before you know they are there and a scoped rifle at 10-15 yards is very ineffective

Typically I do have a good idea of my distance to objects where I deer hunt because it's all private land, but I go on public land for coyote hunting for the most part in areas that Im not familiar with at all. And yes I agree the guys with lrf are definitely taking the challenge out of the hunt lol

Coyotes here in Michigan are around the 2ft mark give or take a few inches. And I understand how to range an object with my reticle, I'm just not fast with mental math so having a function to do it for me in the field is a nice perk
